Running Head: PROMOTION OF KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER

How to promote knowledge transfer through a problem-based learning Internet platform for vocational high school students Name Institution Professor Course Date

PROMOTION OF KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER Abstract It is crucial to execute effective and efficient transfer of knowledge from the provider to the receiver. This can be applied by implementation of problem-based learning internet platform. This research is in relation to the vocational high school students and the relevant knowledge transfer methods. According to the research, factual, conceptual, and practices of knowledge represent the types of knowledge and transfer systems with reference to information content. Knowledge can be transferred through direct and indirect means between the provider and the

receiver. Students and teachers have the opportunity to transfer and share information effectively and efficiently. The receiver of the knowledge must absorb information through stimulation, reading, and extreme focus on the communication process.

PROMOTION OF KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER How to promote knowledge transfer through a problem-based learning Internet platform for vocational high school students The rise in the knowledge-based economies has led to the growth and development of knowledge management. Total quality management, organizational re-engineering, and

organizational learning have become common in the contemporary practices of the management field. In the reference of business entities, knowledge is viewed as essential property. The value of business entities is on the rise by effective and efficient management of knowledge that is development in schools. Schools also act as organizations and environments that foster the management of knowledge. The actual learners in that context are students (Shi-Jer Loua et al, 2010). The acquisition, transfer, sharing, and development of knowledge have become inevitable in the contemporary world as part of organizational growth. This is because of adoption and implementation of Information Technology (IT). The process through which knowledge receivers obtain knowledge from the providers with the aim of developing their productive capability is known as the knowledge transfer. Knowledge can be transferred from one individual to another through two forms: tacit and explicit. The main traditional tools that have been crucial for the development or transfer of knowledge are books. Application of computers and internet has changed the mode of transfer of knowledge in the modern world. The information transfer has been faster and cost effective due to the implementation of internet and computers. Machinery industries have been on the rise in Taiwan for several years. Machinery industries are crucial to the development of the economy. Knowledge or human resources are crucial to the growth and development of the machinery industries that eventually lead to transformation of the economy. Determination of bad or good knowledge depends on the effectiveness, efficiency, and quality of teaching process. Internet

PROMOTION OF KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER technology and knowledge management can be applied in the teaching activities to promote effectiveness and efficiency towards the development of the economy. This would enhance the documentation and preservation of information and expertise (Shi-Jer Loua et al, 2010). Students and teachers have the opportunity to transfer and share information effectively and efficiently. Application of both knowledge management and internet platform is critical in the provision of solution in relation to future reforms in the context of vocational schools. Enhancement of meta-cognitive abilities of students enables the organization to stimulate the learning motivation of the knowledge receivers. Direct information occurs through the interaction of individuals while indirect interaction occurs through media medium. The transfer of knowledge expresses educational contents and meanings. Teaching and learning proves the

transfer of knowledge. Understanding of knowledge and information by the receiver can enhance the process of transferring knowledge from one individual to the other person. In the presence of clear and complete information, the transfer of knowledge is fast and effective (Shi-Jer Loua et al, 2010). The ability of the receiver of the knowledge to express sufficient motivation to learning process is the key factor for successful transfer of knowledge between students and teachers. Transfer of knowledge is also known as the communication process between knowledge receiver and provider. Provider of the information or knowledge must possess and present motivation and ability to convey the tacit knowledge to the student. The receiver of the knowledge must absorb information through stimulation, reading, and extreme focus on the communication process. Socialization process is the ability of individuals to share and transfer information through experience, observation, simulation, and reflection (Shi-Jer Loua et al, 2010).
