Moderation The DWIH Info Days Study & Research in Germany! will give firsthand information about the German university and research landscape through interactive exchanges with experts of various German Universities, Research institutions and Funding organisations. Learn about aspects ranging from admission requirements, financial support and visa procedures to issues such as German language requirements, part time work, employment prospects and lots more. Apoorv Mahendru spent his early years in Germany. He graduated from the University of Delhi, and completed his Masters degree in Business Administration. Apoorv Mahendru has been associated with the DAAD for over a decade. He held the position of Key Expert for the European Higher Education Fair India 2006 and European Higher Education Fair India 2008, conducted by a consortium of institutions including DAAD, NUFFIC, Campus France and British Council, on behalf of the European Commission. He is currently Director (Marketing) at the DAAD Regional Office in New Delhi, responsible for the South Asian region. MA from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi, Shubhada Choudhury has been associated with Symphony Services, Bangalore as Team lead for its German Operations and has been a free-lance translator. She joined DAAD Mumbai in 2011 and currently heads the DAAD Mumbai desk.

There would be focus of full time/exchange Master & Phd admissions and funding opportunities for the 180+ courses offered in 13 faculties at University of Gttingen. D Chandrika has been associated with University of Gttingen since two years. She is an astrophysicist by training and currently working in areas of Didactics, Experiential Education and astrophysics. She manages the Gttingen India Office at Pune, which facilitates research activities with its Indian partners and coordinates student exchange programmes with University of Pune.

Pooja Midha has been associated with the DAAD for the past 3 years and is currently heading the scholarship Programme A New Passage to India. She is also responsible for providing necessary assistance to the DAAD scholars in matters related to their academic and research stay in India under various other DAAD scholarship programmes and for generating the website content for German students and scholars.

Ms Eva Tiemann works at the Center for International Cooperation at Freie Universitt Berlin. She supports and extends the strong Indo-German Cooperation of Freie Universitt and its Indian partner universities and informs about research and study possibilities. She previously worked in Delhi at DAAD and at the German Embassy. She did her M.A South Asian History at the South Asian Institute, Heidelberg, in 2005.

An integral component of this initiative is the internet portal www.make-it-in-germany.com which presents key information on this programme including the professions in demand in Germany. The Integrated Experts Programme places German or European citizens as technical experts or managers with local employers in India in the defined focus areas of Indo-German development cooperation. Integrated Experts occupy key positions for which the expertise is lacking in the partner country. Ms. Gupta holds an MBA in Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise Developmet from University of Leipzig, Germany. Her professional experience has focussed on various aspects of bilateral and multilateral cooperation: development cooperation, scientific and research cooperation, and communications. She has previously worked for German Research Foundation (DFG) and WHO Country Office for India. Having studied in Germany and returned to India to work for organisations promoting collaboration between India and Germany, she is excited about the opportunities Germany offers to Indian students in the field of academics and research, besides of course the professional avenues, networks and international exposure offered by education and training in Germany.

Previously she headed the Kathmandu Office of Heidelberg University. Until recently she was a Research Fellow at the Institute of Governance Studies (IGS) at BRAC University in Dhaka. Her previous assignments include being a (Senior) Lecturer at the Dept. of Geography at the South Asia Institute from 1995 onwards, and the Resident Representative of the SAI's Kathmandu Office (1996/97 and 2003/05). She was active at the Institute of Governance Studies (IGS) in Dhaka from 2009 onwards. Her fields of research focus on social and economic policy analyses. She joined Heidelberg University in January 2013 and has since been heading the Delhi office of the Heidelberg Centre South Asia.

Amisha Jain is an (Indian) Advocate and a registered Solicitor (UK). At present, she is pursuing PhD on Forest Rights Act from India. She has lived in Germany from 2006-2009 and worked in an international Law Firm in Cologne. Since 2009, she is looking after running of UoC India office and is settled in Delhi.

Guido Christ is the Deputy Director General of the Indo German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC) in New Delhi since 2008. The IGCC, representing approx. 7000 members, is the biggest binational chamber in the German Network. The chamber advises German as well as Indian companies on all aspects of doing business in the respective country. Having a degree as Mechanical engineer, Mr. Christ has been working in the industry for more than 30 years before joining the chamber. Within those 30 years he worked as managing Director of the Indian subsidiary of a German MNC for more than eight years from 1995 to 2003. Dr. Hillinger has been with the Max Planck Society since 1998. She currently serves as Scientific Officer in the Division of International Relations at the Munich headquarters. Dr. Hillinger previously spent 4 years (2008-2012) in the US as Vice President of Institute Development for the newly established Max Planck Florida Institute (MPFI) and President of its nonprofit fundraising arm, the Max Planck Florida Foundation
