SAFETY LEADERSHIP AWARD

The Safety Council of Southwest Louisiana – Safety Leadership Award - recognizes those
individuals who demonstrate exemplary leadership in the area of Safety & Health for
Southwest Louisiana. The initial criteria for this recognition is that the individual must be
recommended by either an individual who has close first hand knowledge or an
organization who wishes to recommend one of its’ members.

The Safety Leadership Award is not an annual event. The recognition is made of those
individuals who meet the criteria. There may be multiple awards in any given year or no
awards for a particular year.

The base criteria is; the individual(s) must work within the Safety & Health field or be
directly involved in supporting the efforts of those who do work in the field. The award
may be presented for activities in any given time frame or can be the culmination of years
of service.

The individual(s) must be of good character and demonstrate a concern for the community
and the citizens of southwest Louisiana. Involvement in civic activities is a plus for the
recognition, as is leadership in other local organizations.

A formal recommendation is required and may be submitted at any time to the C.E.O. or
Customer Service Manager of the Safety Council. The Executive Board of the Safety
Council will review all recommendations and determine, which if any, individual(s) are to
receive this award. The Award is presented at the Annual meeting of the full Board of
Directors of the Safety Council of Southwest Louisiana.
