This is one of most interesting book encountered by me. It combines MATLAB directly with engineering. Experimentation of this kind are highly appreciable. The book starts with basics of MATLAB and Simulink. Chapter 3 on Simulink is quite useful and resourceful for the students. The various definitions regarding basic electrical engineering are explained in much detail and in a lucid manner. Then again it goes for rectifier design and analysis in much detail along with inverters, choppers, cycloconverters i.e. complete power electronics combined with MATLAB, great!. A must (highly recommended) for power electronic student.In the end control system engineering, electrical machines, power system engineering, animations are covered. The chapter on power system engineering is quite useful for students studying this subject as they would hardly find the matter like load flow study, load frequency control in any other book. The last chapter on matrix converters is really well appreciating. I was still searching for a book on this topic and found out this one. On this topic research is still going on and is hardly there in course curriculum till date. The author has has explained it in a very simple yet complete way. All hats off for this!!!Personally speaking, the book is must for an electrical engineer and is quite helpful for electronics & communication as well as a mechanical engineer. There is no harm in keeping a hard copy of this book with as it is quite resourceful in major and minor projects too. Later on it can be used as a guide for programming. The CD provided with the book is an added value. One can blindly go for it at least if he is a fresh engineer and new to MATLAB. In my view this one the best books available on MATLAB for Electrical Engineers. This book can work as a self help guide for all electrical engineers willing to undertake projects on MATLAB.
