restricted inner opening, whereby a discrete quantity of

pellets are captured in the passageway when the handle

ABSTRACT

An improved slingshot includes an elongated main

frame and a fork assembly pivotally mounted about a
transverse axis at the forward end of the mainframe.

The fork assembly includes a pivotal flip-fork resiliently

biased to normally assume a lowered neutral non-shoot

ing position in which is lies below the path of ?ight of

a projectile shot by the slingshot. The ?ip-fork is pivot
ally movable against the bias to an upright shooting

extending prongs and a user-graspable handgrip de
pending downwardly. Each of the prongs carries one of
a pair of confrontingly opposed posts that extend out
wardly from the prong and on the periphery of which a
slot is de?ned. In use, the elastic members are releasably
received in the respective post slots and the projectile is
grasped by the user and drawn rearwardly to stretch the
elastic members against their elastic urgency. When the
projectile is then released, the elastic members contract

that propel the projectile toward the target. As the

projectile passes between and beyond the yoke prongs,

ends thereof. A hand grip is provided on the shaft to

hold the apparatus in a desired position. The object is
directed toward a desired target by positioning the spur
of the putter head into the ground and drawing and
releasing the sling while the shaft is held at the desired
angle. When the object is on a putting surface, the appa
ratus is converted into a putter by removing the sling
section from the apparatus. The apparatus can be con
verted into a ?rearm target thrower by substituting a

staked end section for the putter section. When the

staked end is implanted into the ground, the sling is used

to propel objects into the air for ?rearm shooting prac
tice.

member having a pair of opposed pulleys adjacent its
rearward end and another pair adjacent its forward end,
and further including an elongate track portion on its
upper surface. A loop member having a linearly resil

for holding the sliding dog rearwardly when drawn
from between the pulleys, and for suddenly releasing
the dog, is provided. A velocity increasing mechanism
replacing the sliding dog is also disclosed, the mecha
