I observed and taught multiple lessons under Kim Olson for 6th and 8th grade Spanish classes. I extremely enjoyed teaching the students about culture, cooking, and gardening and connecting similarities and differences between the two cultures. Student Teaching Field Experience: Hellgate High School: Spring 2014. I am currently teaching Spanish I and Spanish II at Hellgate High school, grades 9-12. I love being in the classroom everyday, creating lessons and developing a curriculum that I can share with my students.

Teaching related work experience: CAADI: Centro de Auto-Aprendizaje Dirigido: Au 2013 While attending the University of Guanajuato in Mexico, I volunteered at a center for language learners and taught English to students from all over the world. WEN: Water Education Network: Au 2012 I volunteered at WEN for my service-learning project. At WEN, we took children into the field and taught them about the river ecology, stream habitat and how to calculate cubic feet per second data. We were responsible for keeping the students safe and engaged while exploring Montanas rivers and streams. Cramer Creek School: December 2010-March 2010 I was a milieu instructor for a group of teenage girls at Cramer Creek, a boarding school for at-risk youth. I helped facilitate the development of young ladies while mentoring them through a tough time in their lives and creating a safe environment in which they participated in rehabilitation using the positive-peer culture model. Working here heavily influenced my decision to become a teacher and to forever help facilitate the growth and development of young people.

Work experience: Prudential Missoula Properties, April 2005-January 2007 As a Real Estate sales professional, I was responsible for my own business and managing my own accounts. I developed strong relationships with clients and guided them through the buying and selling process. As their Realtor, I created advertisements, managed accounts and contracts, and negotiated contracts with clients and other Realtors. I became a very successful, young Realtor and earned top sales agent within my first year. Contact: Casey Smith (406) 239-3624 Office Manager, Western Montana Mortgage, January 2007-October 2007 My brokers from Prudential decided to open a mortgage company and I decided to make the switch. I was the office manager for a brand new Mortgage company. My tasks included organizing an office and preparing office licenses for lenders, processing loans, managing accounts on QuickBooks, and preparing closings for loans. I left this job as the market went under and moved back to Alabama to be with my family. Contact: Casey Smith (406) 239-3624 Manager, Wahoo Water Sports, January 2008-November 2008 I helped manage a family run tourist business on the Gulf of Mexico. We sold trips for parasailing, dolphin cruises, wave-runner riding, and boat rentals. I was responsible for selling and organizing the trips as well as preparing and discussing the documentation for waivers and safety information. I loved working with people in an adventure industry and of course spending time back home with close friends and family. After the season was over, I went traveling in South America and later moved back to the Rocky Mountains. Contact: Brooks Moore (251) 981-0150 Wilderness River Outfitters, May 2009-Present After traveling throughout parts of South America, I moved to Salmon, ID to train as a river guide and help run an office for Wilderness River Outfitters. I updated mailings, prepared the books using QuickBooks, and helped organize trips. I also rowed gear boats down the salmon to obtain a license, and by the end of the summer I lead 6 day, white-water rafting trips down the Middle Fork and the Main Salmon River. I am very passionate about my experience working as a guide. I learned how to become a trip leader and developed skills for life. I was a sales associate at the Trailhead here in Missoula. I enjoyed helping people find the right tools and gear they need to enjoy the outdoors, and have met a great crew of folks to spend time with and share adventures. I decided to go back to college to study Spanish and Education and decided to leave the Trailhead. Working for Sobek has taken guiding to the next level. I recently completed my Spanish degree abroad at the University of Guanajuato in Guanajuato, Mexico.
