Children’s Christmas Party Donations: If you would like to help with this ministry, please place a
donation in a blue envelope, write your name along with “Children’s Christmas” on it and place it in
the offering plate. This is a way we can help the less fortunate in our community.
NOTE: Last week we enjoyed a good time of time of fun and fellowship for our Trunk ‘R’ Treat activities for the
children. This week everything gets back to our regular scheduling.
Worship KidStyle: Keep in mind that children’s worship is ongoing each Sunday morning during our
10:45 worship service. The children will meet their leaders at the designated time in the worship
service. The worship time is designed for children ages four through grade 2.
Find It Here: Sharing Christ Across Kentucky! The Kentucky Baptist Convention will
be held at the Severns Valley Baptist Church in Elizabethtown on Tuesday, November 10. The
theme for the meeting will be Find It Here: Sharing Christ Across Kentucky.
“Find it Here” is a campaign to deliver the Gospel to 1.5 million households across Kentucky in the
weeks leading up to Easter Sunday 2010. It is part of the GPS initiative of the North American
Mission Board aimed at fulfilling the Great Commission in North America by 2020. Churches will be
encouraged to participate in a High Attendance emphasis during the spring of 2010. You will be
hearing more about this emphasis after the first of the New Year.

Things of Interest
• Work has been completed on the church steeple and the section of the roof around it that was
leaking. Now, we are waiting on the new front doors to arrive so installation can begin. When
everything is done it should look much better! This was made possible by an anonymous
financial gift by two of our church members. We are thankful for those in our church who have
the means to give in this way and are willing to share their financial blessings from God.
• The activities building (gym) is being inspected for mold because of water leakage damage to
the roof. Our Building and Grounds committee is working very hard to keep this and other
areas of our buildings up to par. Pray for their efforts as they work to provide a safe and
secure environment for our members. Our goal is to get this building up to code so that it can
be utilized for ministry to the community.
• The community choir rehearsal for the Thanksgiving service will be held at the Methodist
Church on Sunday, November 15, at 4:00 p.m. You are invited to come and sing with the
choir, even if you don’t already sing in our Sanctuary Choir. We would love to have you in our
community choir for that service. The actual service for the community will be held on Sunday,
November 22 at 6:00 p.m. with a fellowship afterwards. There will be an offering taken at the
service that evening.
• The Community Christmas Celebration will be held at the Kenneth Shadowen Performing
Arts Center on Sunday, December 6th, at 2:30 p.m. The program will feature a variety of
musical selections by various groups in our area. Some include a community choir, children’s
chorus from Paducah, instrumental ensemble from FBC Benton, a children’s theatre group,
and the singing of the “Hallelujah Chorus” at the close of the program.
