Q1. How would you describe the situation? To follow the growing trend of female being hired as a salesperson, Martin Incorporation a plastic manufacturer consider hiring female sales representative. Mike Butler, a divisions sales manager was determined to trace a qualified and hard working female sales representative. He was confident that the new female sales person will explicit her qualities in such a way that Martins goodwill will augment. Mike is young, intelligent handsome guy who is a dark horse and can uplift the sales from a consistent point. He is married and has two daughters live at Knoxville. The Knoxville has two sales assignments which include one vacant assignment in Huntsville, Alabama. Mike interviewed four males and two females for the post of salesperson, He was personally impressed by the Nancy bishop who was attractive, good-natured and qualified marketing major in college and had a three year work experience at delta airlines. During her interview she proved herself as an intelligent, strong, confident person and proves to be best fitted for the post of sale representative at Martins Inc. Nancy was hired at Martin and had to go through three week introductory training period which mike discussed with her wife and to his surprise she was not pleased to hear that. Few misunderstanding also happened at the division office, where people were less co-operative to her and feel discontented. Mike made inquiries about the problem but no body respond to it. At the early weeks Mike was satisfied to notice Nancy was doing sound and able-bodied in the office. Mike knew that she is an attractive woman, and he was confused to treat her only the salesperson as he was treating his other fellow staff or should he make her comfortable with him. While he was thinking about her, Nancy called him and to his utmost surprise she invited her to do dinner together and he could feel her heartbeat running rapidly. Q2. What actions would you take if you were Mike? If I were Mike, I would have ignored her to make her feel that I am only interested in her as other sales staff. I will shift her to other department or other area of sales office. To completely ignore her I will initiate not to talk to her directly. I will give authority to my subordinate to operate with her and report

me. In order to be less in front of her so that she may feel ignorant and move backward because at the same time I cannot forget that I am a married person and have two daughters.
