Some Thoughts.

After having chosen Team Dynamics as the topic for my term paper, my mind set its motion on the fast lane to get a grasp of what the term Team Dynamics really means. As the momentary search at that point of time proved futile, I googled the words Team Dynamics. The click of the search button yielded a flurry of results. The words were gleaming in bold and with heroic pride, I clicked on the first result from Wikipedia

Team Dynamics is a what???!!, I yelled being taken aback. I slowly sail ed back into reality, after calming myself with my imperviousness. Then, suddenly, my mind raced back in time and I visualized a session during my first year in this management institute. It was an executive communication class; somehow discussion on this topic team dynamics has cropped up and the instructor was busy explaining about it. Forces operating in a team; these words were clearly etched in my memory and these words are the only remnants of whatever she said. But, whatever it was, it was indeed a good actuator to begin with and a very good experience too. The Real Team Dynamics.. So, to begin with let us see what this term is all about. Team Dynamics are the unseen forces (system of behaviors and psychological processes) that operate in a team between different people or groups; Team dynamics refers to the attitudinal and behavioral characteristics of a team. An accident investigation team would be a good example of a, for example. The members use their individual abilities to arrive at a cohesive result real world team dynamic. Each member is assigned to evaluate one aspect of the accident. The expert on crash scene reconstruction does not have to consult with the expert on forensic evidence. There may be a team member working as a facilitator for the process, but not necessarily a specific leader.

Team dynamics concern how teams form, their structure and process, and how they function. This dynamics are relevant in both formal and informal groups of all types. In an organizational setting, teams are a very common organizational entity and the study of teams and team dynamics is an important area of study in organizational behavior. Team Dynamics can strongly influence how a team reacts, behaves or performs, and the effects of team dynamics are often very complex. Many factors influence team dynamics, such as personalities of team members, how the team operates, how the team views itself and the team's organization. The work place, social organizations, community groups and sports all use teams to accomplish goals. The dynamics of teams determine if these goals will be met in an efficient manner. Identifying team dynamics and understanding positive and negative outcomes that may occur due to the dynamics will assist you to achieve team efforts.
