My Article Psychologist knowledge and Attitudes about Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Feta Alcohol Spectrum Disorders, and Alcohol use During Pregnancy was written by numerous Psychologist who names are Danny, Wedding, Kohout, Jessica, Mengel, Mark, Ohlemiller, Melinda, Ulione, Margaret, Cook, Keely. The articles purpose was to speak about data the was collected on a survey about psychologist on their knowledge and their attitudes about Fetal Alcohol Syndrome also known as (FAS) and womens use of alcohol during their pregnancies. In the article there was a survey that demonstrated that psychologist have some knowledge about FAS and the negative side effects it can have on the baby if alcohol was consumed during any stage in the pregnancy. The survey also shows that there is a much greater need for more additional training so that psychologist will be able to prevent, Recognize, diagnose, and treat those children who may have FAS, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) as well as any other alcohol related syndrome and also in this way Psychologist can have a greater chance of preventing alcohol consumption early on in the pregnancy. In the end the article speaks about taking steps that psychologist can take to become more informed so that in that way we can reduce the number of babies who are exposed to alcohol while they are still developing in their mothers uterus This article relates to chapter 3 because in that chapter it speaks about Pre natal development, Birth, and the newborn baby in this chapter there is a section where it speaks about alcohol and the negative effects it has on the fetus when alcohol is consumed in the pregnancy After reading Chapter 3 and this Article I have become much more informed in the danger that may occur to the fetus if alcohol is consumed during pregnancy that is why I now believe that no women should drink any alcohol no matter how small the amount is during pregnancy. I also believe that women that are at higher risk of becoming pregnant should be more careful and not drink at all if they believe that there is even a chance no matter how small that they may or may not be pregnant because the most important thing should be to bring a baby as safely and as healthy as we can into this world, because there are many negative ways alcohol can affect children later on in the future not only in a psychological manner but also in psychical and developmental way that is why women should be more cautious when it involves drinking alcohol if they are in the age group where there is a possibility for them to get pregnant. I also believe that all doctors and psychologists should work harder to get more informed in all the negative effects alcohol can have during pregnancy so that they will be able to minimize the number of children diagnosed with alcohol related syndromes.
