Hwa Chong Institution (College) C1 History Writing Task Rubrics

0-2 Writing of this band will exhibit significant irrelevance, with significant incoherence. Content will be largely negligible and/or inaccurate. 0 offered rarely, to students failing to make any attempt at writing anything of value. 1 offered to students who recognize the point being discussed is value, and attempts to briefly comment on it. 2 offered to students who attempt to write at length about the given factor, but fails to achieve anything of note. 3-4 Writing here will be characterized by a lack of understanding of the point / factor / event / personality. While coherent, it will be evident that little coherent analysis has taken place. Content will often be brief, and treated superficially. Sweeping statements would have been made to cover that fact, and be passed off as analysis. 5-6 Writing here will often be relevant, but narrative.
