I am an ambitious, hardworking third year journalism undergraduate with a passion for news and fashion. Alongside my academic studies I have written regularly for student magazines, completed placements with Grazia, S magazine and Attitude, as well as writing for business magazine The Professional and launching my own blog. In only my third week I had well over a thousand views and the hits keep on coming. I gained a fascinating insight into the magazine world during my placements, assisting stylists, working on shoots and researching and writing articles. Ive also had the eye opening experience of volunteering at an orphanage in Mozambique where I spent a month teaching English and helping build a home for a woman whose own was destroyed by a cyclone. All these exciting opportunities helped me further my skills and experiences, and I hope to continue to add to this. Attitude Magazine March 2011 Here I worked as a runner on a fashion shoot helping the photographer, models, stylists and makeup artists. Voluntary Experience____________________________________ African Impact, Mozambique

Summer 2011

I taught English to adults and volunteered both at a pre-school and orphanage in Mozambique over a month. We created a vegetable patch to enable the children to grow produce which they could sell and built houses for those in need. The money we raised to get to Mozambique helped pay for the resources. I am still in touch with the charity and other volunteers and recently wrote an article on the company and my experience. Interests____________________________________________________________ I am always looking for inspiration and enjoy visiting exhibitions and adding to my blog. I try to keep my camera with me to work on my photographic skills and love styling my own clothes using my textiles knowledge. I have designed and made pieces which I have been able to photograph for my portfolio, including a full length ball gown. Travel is another passion of mine and after Europe, America and Africa my next stop is Asia. Additional Skills_________________________________________________ I am competent in all current Microsoft Office applications, WordPress and Wix. I have set up my own personal website and blog, and can confidently edit on InDesign, Final Cut Pro and Audacity. I have a UAL certificate in drawing and hold a full UK Driving Licence.
