All which thou oughtelt to be well acquainted with. ‘There are fome more that fee effary tobe known , but toavoid tediouinefs and confulion , | fhall at prefent omit them. The AGuid for Afirologers. Tr The Seventh Confideration , 1s to beware of thofe Cues wherein the Aftrologer is fubjeet to err and miftake 5 “of which the Learned have named Four: 1. When the Querent is fofilly chat he knows not how to ask, nor whathe would have. 2. When the time for which the Figure isere€ted, is, miftaken. 3. When the Artift knows not whether the Sun be gone off the line of the Mid-heaven, or be till upon its orbe be- hind orbcforeit. 4. When the Fortunes and, Tofortunes thall be of equal ftrength ; at which time thou therefore oughtelt not to receive any Queftion. Bot in: my opinion there may well be added yet three wayes morc, wherein the Aftrologer will be fub- ject, tocre s 1. When the Querent comes oncly totryhim, or put a trick upon him as many do, faying , Let ss go to fuch an Aftrcloger , -and ask, bins (uch a thing , and fee if be can-tell ui the truth or not. Jufk as the Jews propounded Queitions to our Lord Jefus Chrift , not fo much to be re- folved , as to tempt and enfnare him. 2) Wherein the Artitt will be liable to err in, is when the Ciuerent does not ask out of 1 ferious or fettled intention 5 as fore do when they meet an Aftrologer by chance, orgoto him onotherbufinefs; ona fudden they think of fomething , and fo ask as it were 12 A Guid for Aftrolgers. were by the by; wherein tis a thoufand to one but miftakes happen. But thou may’ft be ready to fay , How Pall I hyow whether the Querent come out of & folid intention, or enely ta trj me? To which Vanfwer, That it feems avery abjrule and difficale point , perfettly to find outs but this I have often experienced and found true, vit. Another, vis. a third way wherchY an Aftrologer may erre, Is when the Lord of the Afendane and Lord of the Hour are not the {ame , nor of the fame Triplicity 5 ‘or be not of the faine Complection with the Afcendant s tor thea the Queftion is wot Radical, A Guid for Aflrologers. 13 Radical, as fhave frequently found by ex. perience. And this 1 have recited, that thou may’ know for what perfons’ thou fhould’#t undertake to give Judgment 5 for asonefays, The feof the hing is acer ding 10 the foliciesde of the Querent , and as he comes inneceffty , as fad, thoughtful, and hoping that tho art able and kyoxveft how to fatisfc bin the truth of the matter s and in fach cafe thou may'ft fecurely venture up- on the Queftion, The Eighth Confideration is, To mind how many of the aforefiid manners or points neceflary to be ufed and heeded in, giving Judgments, thou haft to confider 5 and they are thirty : that isto fay , fixteen impediments of the Moon, ten of the o- ther Planets, ashath been faids and befides all thofe the Planets {everal Joys , whichare four, of which the fir is the Houfe which cach Planet docs delight in, as Afercsry in the Afcendant , the oon in the third, Venas inthe fifth, AMarsin the fixch, the San in the ninth, Papiter inthe eleventh , Satwrninthe tweltth. The fecond is, When aPlanct is ina Sign hedelights in, as Saturn in Aqua- rine » Jupiter in Sagistary , Mars in Scorpio, Sol in Leoy Venus in Taurus, Mercury in Virgo, and the Moon in Cancer. ‘The third is, When Diurnal Planets, as Saturn, Ja- piter, Seer eeee sees eee eeeeseeeieeeeeeieeeceeeeeeceeaeeeceess ese ace assesses eee eee eee eee eee eee eee 14 A Guid for Aftrologer's. iter y Sol and Mercery , are in Diurnal Froules in the Eaft and Oriental of the Sun near the Horofcope 3 and Nocturnal Pla- nets, as Mars, Venus, Luna, and Mercury, are in Nocturnal Houfes in the Welt, and Occidental of the Sun 5 efpecially near the Cufp of the Seventh. ‘The fourth is, When tne three Superiors, Satur, Jupiter, or Mars, are in Mafculine Quarters 5 which are counted from the Cufp of the tenth Houfe tothe Cufp of the Afcendant , and from the ‘Cofp of the fourth Houfe to the Culp of the feventh Houfe s and when the Fe nines , viz. Venus or the Afvon, arc in Fe- mining Quarters, which are from the Cufp of the Afcendant to the Cufp of the fourth Houfe, and fromthe Culpof the feventh to the Culp of the tenth. As for Mercury he delights when with Mafculine Platiets in Malculine Quarters , but with Feminine Planets in Feminine. The Ninh Confideration is, To takeno- tice of the feveral wayes as well fecret as manifeft , good and evil , whereby things are helpt ot hindyed to be done ornot done 5 and of thefe there are one and twenty in Number: r. A moft ftrong fecret Helpers 2 Avery ftrong feeret Helper. 3, A flrong Helper.’ 4. A weak fecret Helper. 5. A weaker fecret Helper. 6, A molt fecret : Helper, AGnid for Afirologers, 1g Helper. 7.
