The Three Philosophies

Confucianism Daoism Legalism

Recourses: www.googleimages.com www.google.com www.wikapedia.com and the History Alive! Textbook.

Brief Description: The goal was to make a just and peaceful society. Confucius only wanted to teach men with good character. He worked well with everyone who would act properly. There were five basic relationships: ruler and subject, husband and wife, father and son, older and younger sibling, and finally friend and friend. This philosophy was reasonable because Confucius wanted to keep peace between the societies.

Like Confucianism both philosophies tried to give answers to the problems. Some scholars today think that Laozi was a myth when he was leaving China a guard asked him to write down his thoughts. He wrote a manuscript which later became Daoism. According to Chinese religion, Laozi was leaving on the back of a water buffalo. This philosophy was reasonable because it spoke about how a wise person thought something and wrote it down.

The philosophy came out during Chinas tome of trouble. It was based on Hanfeizis teachings. He was from the royal family. He was very concerned with creating peace and order in the society. It was based on the idea that most people are selfish. Hanfeizi also said to trust no one including your family.

This philosophy was very cruel and harsh because you were punished if you had bad behavior.
