e Spiritual Family of OLFIN'S SECRET Sound Recording 5: October 2010 This Teaching was given orally by the Spirit Tata G, an Spiritual Emissary of Baba Oduduwa Story of how Baba Oduduwa cuts his Tongue to feed his daughter and Orunmilas daughter: The Story tells that Baba Oduduwa was the best friend of Orunmila, the best buddys. It was a time in which the situation of the government was not so good, and they consulted the IF Oracle, IF told them to EBO, but in order to the EBO to be complete, they have to travel to the mountain, and each one had to go with their respective daughters, but they couldnt carry aby water or food. They have to find food and water for their travel in their way to the top of the mountain, and once there, they have to find a Sacred Seed, that was the KN. They fallow what IF told them, and each took their respective daughters with them and began their travel, but for this, they couldnt cross the sea, although to get to the mountain where they were going was much easier to go through the sea. In those times, there were no compass or nothing like it to guide themselves using 4 directions, the place where they were going had a lot of vegetation, very dense, that didnt allow the sunlight to go through, like a Jungle. In the way, they use the OBI ABATA (the Kola Nut) to guide themselves, in the position where the EYES of the OBI ABATA were, in that direction they traveled. It results that in the way, one of the girls got sick, in this case was the daughter of Oduduwa. Orunmila because he was a wise man and a herbalist, he went out in search of a medicine for the daughter of Oduduwa, and he left leaving Oduduwa in charge of his daughter. Orunmila at going out to search in a place that he didnt knew, he was at risk. Many many days pass, and Orunmila didnt return. Oduduwa and the two girls started to feel hungry, then what Oduduwa did, since he didnt have nothing at hand, and he couldnt leave the sick girl alone, Oduduwa decided that to cut his own tongue in order to give that to the girls to eat. Oduduwa did that since Orunmila was risking his life, and he didnt know if Orunmila would return or not. Short time after Oduduwa did this, Orunmila returned with the medicine to heal Oduduwas daughter. There were some food left that Oduduwa prepared, and Oduduwa offer some for Orunmila to eat. Orunmila eat the food, but he noticed that something, he ask; What is this? Oduduwa told him that it was a piece of pork that he found. But Orunmila noticed that ODUDUWA told him was not true. Oduduwa in order to be able to talk, he put a piece of the OBI ABATA in his mouth, but Orunmila began to notice the situation, because he saw that Oduduwa was bleeding thorough his mouth. They continue their travel until they found the Tree that they were looking for in order to be able to talk to IF directly. When they got there, they took the Sacred Seeds (the KN) that they needed and they returned back to their town. The piece of OBI ABATA that Oduduwa has in his mouth that he used to be able to speak went bad, and then he couldnt speak no more. Orunmila in reward to Oduduwa for feeding the girls and Orunmila with food, ORUNMILA puts a piece of the KN Nut in the mouth of Oduduwa. Orunmila told Oduduwa; Now You will dont have the need to talk , you are going to be able to communicate and only speak through the use of the KN. Oduduwa. This is why Baba Oduduwa doesnt speak through the use of the rndnlgn (16 Cowrie Shell Oracle) of the Sh Tradition, and Oduduwa only talks through the use of his 16 KN in the IF Tradition. When they give the Igb Oduduwa through the Sh tradition, it comes with 16 Cowrie shells (rndnlgn)? Yes, it come with his 16 Cowrie shells, but similar to the Igb Olkun Agana Eri (Olkun of the RSh Tradition), it comes with 16 Cowrie shells but they dont TALK through ITA Ceremony as an Oracle. The Initiation of Baba Oduduwa can be given through the Sh or IF Traditions, but in the Sh Tradition, they wash one hand of 16 Cowrie shells, they throw or cast the 16 Cowrie shells to find out the Sign of Birthing (Washing Sign or Signo de Lavatorio as they called in the Cuban Tradition), that is only one throw to see how the ORSHA comes to help the person receiving that Initiation. Those 16 Cowrie shells cant be used as an oracle. (ITA comes from Eeta, meaning 3, referring to the third day of a ceremony, when they do the Oracle ceremony.) Baba Oduduwa indeed cut his tongue due to the Curse he put over the Africans for forgetting about their ROOTS. This story is borne in the OD or DN IF of FUN MJ, that is the Oracle Sign where the CURSE IS BORNE, and also makes reference to the Curse of Oduduwa and Orunmila towards his own people.
