One of the most influential events that ever accord in the history of United States of America is the space program. America has always been the home to science and new inventions. No country has ever been successful as USA when it comes to astronomy and science beyond our planet. Soviet Union had also made some success in their space program but America made more progress and won the space race between the two nations. The National Aeronautics Space Administration was originally created to gather research related to flights within planet Earth and also beyond our existence. It was primarily created through national defense pressure as an act of parliament on 1 October, 1958. NASA is considered as the world's primary exploration agency and it has done tremendous amounts of research and discoveries beyond our blue planet.

In 1957, the Soviet Union launched the satellite Sputnik, and the space race was on. In 1961, President John F. Kennedy promised the public that the U.S. space program will be landing a man on the moon by the end of the decade. In 1958, the U.S. launched its own satellite, Explorer I, designed by the U.S. Army under the direction of rocket scientist Werner von Braun. That same year, President Dwight Eisenhower signed a public order creating the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), a federal agency dedicated to space exploration. On July of 1969, with the launch of Apollo 11, USA sent its first men to the moon. Neil Armstrong, Edwin Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins were the first three men to successfully land on the moon. man to walk on the moons surface; he famously called the moment one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind. In conclusion, I believe that NASA is the true pride of America. I think of NASA as the most important science program that has ever been made among mankind. Day by day we see more and more missions and rovers sent to Mars, Moon and further places out there in the space and far beyond our planet. NASA has discovered so much and has given scientists and astronomers much information that can create a different future for our plant. The moment that NASA was created America was headed to numerous adventures and discoveries and it showed hope to mankind. NASA is becoming more technological each year and hopefully it can take us beyond our dreams.
