Carolyn loved baking from a very young age but it was not until her last semester of college that she decided to turn her hobby into a career. After getting her bachelors degree in Hospitality & Hotel Management from Florida International University, she got herself a job at Mighty Fine Cakes in Miami where she fell in love with cake decorating. This experience motivated her and was her incentive to move back home to Haiti and open her very own bakery.
I am delighted that Ive been able to realize the first aspect of my career goals and am looking forward to conquering the rest. I have found my passion and the rest is history
Depuis son jeune ge, Caroline adorait cuisiner mais ce ne fut que lors de son dernier semestre au collge quelle dcida de transformer son passe-temps en profession. Aprs avoir obtenu son Bac en Hospitalit et Administration Htelire, de lUniversit Internationale de la Floride, elle se trouva un emploi au Mighty Fine Cakes de Miami, o elle tomba en amour avec la dcoration des gteaux. Cette exprience la motiva et lencouragea retourner chez elle, en Hati, o elle ouvrit sa propre ptisserie. Je suis ravie de pouvoir faire le premier pas vers lobtention des objectifs de ma carrire et jaspire conqurir le reste. Si tu devais laborer un gteau qui te reprsente. Quel motif choisirais-tu? I would make a cake in the form of a whimsical tree. I chose a tree because it represents the love of life, stability and power. The branches reaching out symbolizing wishes fulfilled ambition and the love of family. Je ferais un gteau en forme darbre de motivation. Jai choisi un arbre par ce quil reprsente lamour de vivre, la stabilit et le pouvoir. Les branches qui sinclinent et symbolisent les souhaits raliss, lambition et lamour de la famille. What different types of cakes do you make? What has been your funnest one to make? Quel genre de gteaux fais-tu? Avec Lequel de tes gteaux tes-tu le plus amuse ? I make many types of cakes and flavors. From fondant to butter cream, simple to completely customized. Anything is possible when it comes to cakes. The most exciting cake Ive made has to be a Nikon camera cake. I had to make it as realistic as possible and although it was challenging I had an amazing time creating it. Jlabore beaucoup de gteaux, de tous genres et de toutes saveurs. Du fondant la crme, des gteaux simples, mais absolument personnaliss. Tout est possible quand il sagit de gteaux. Le gteau le plus excitant que jai confectionn reprsentait une camra Nikon. Jai d le rendre aussi raliste que possible et quoique que a reprsente un vrai dfi pour moi, jai vraiment pris beaucoup de plaisir le prparer. What lessons has cake making taught you that can extend to other areas of life? Lesquelles des leons tires de llaboration de gteaux penses-tu pouvoir appliquer dautres domaines de la vie? By becoming a baker I have learned a great deal of lessons and qualities. To have more patience, concentration as well as discipline. It taught me how to take constructive criticism well and use it to my advantage. It also taught me to think on my toes and prepare for the unexpected. In this business you learn to adapt to any situation and innovate En devenant une ptissire jai appris beaucoup de leons et acquis certaines qualits. Avoir plus de patience, se concentre ainsi qutre discipline. Jai appris bien accepter la critique constructive et de lutiliser mon avantage. Jai aussi appris tre sur le qui-vive et tre prte pour toute ventualit. Dans ce mtier on apprend sadapter toutes les situations et innover. What is the creative process like for each cake? En quoi consiste le processus cratif pour chaque gteau ? Every cake is different and every client has his or her specific preferences. When designing or realizing a cake you must always put your clients wants first. I usually speak to the client and we share ideas, concerns and sometimes pictures to come up with a final design. Two cakes will ever be exactly identical: every cake is unique! Chaque gteau est diffrent et chaque client a ses prfrences spcifiques. Quand on labore un gteau on doit toujours prioriser les dsirs du client. En gnral je parle aux clients et nous partageons des ides, des inquitudes et mme parfois des photos pour aboutir un modle final. Deux gteaux ne seront jamais exactement identiques. Chaque gteau est unique!

What has been the most challenging cake request? Quelle a t la commande la plus prouvante? Some cakes take longer to realize and require more concentration but every cake has its own challenges. Many cakes require special ingredients and finding them locally is quite difficult at times. Planning in advance is a big aspect in baking and cake decorating. Certains gteaux exigent plus de temps pour leur prparation ainsi que plus de concentration, mais chaque gteau a ses propres dfis. Pour beaucoup de gteaux il faut avoir des ingrdients spciaux, et les trouver localement est parfois une tche difficile. La planification lavance est un aspect important dans la prparation et la dcoration de gteaux. What advice do you have for other aspiring cake makers? Quel conseil donnerais-tu aux aspirants a ptissiers? The best advice I could give any aspiring cake decorators would be to pay attention to the details. What really makes a cake stand out is when all the details come together and creates a masterpiece. Le meilleur conseil que je pourrais donner aux aspirants dcorateur de gteaux est de faire trs attention aux dtails. Ce qui fait vraiment ressortir un gteau cest lassemblage des dtails qui le transforment en uvre dart.

After moisturizing, apply liquid foundation with a nonlatex sponge (for blending well). Be sure to cover your undereye area and eyelids: Not only will you need less concealer but the foundation will help eye makeup adhere to your skin.

Apply a brightening concealer on any dark shadows you can still see under your eyes.
Long Lasting
With a large, uffy brush, dust a sheer, translucent powder over your entire face, including your lids. Apply a touch of slightly shimmery highlighter (white, vanilla, champagne, or pale gold) under your brows, in the corners of your eyes, and on the tops of your cheekbones.
Using feathery strokes, ll in your brows with a brow pencil a shade lighter than your natural brow (or hair) color.

Apply a couple of coats of black mascara. Waterproof Mascara recommended
Line your upper lashline with a waterproof gel eyeliner.
Dust the apples of your cheeks with a powder blush (which lasts longer than a cream).
Apply a lip stain under your lipstick or gloss; the stain will tint your lips even if the other color wears off.
Keep in mind: If your face tends to get shiny during the day, carry a pressed translucent powder compact in your bag for touch-ups.

With such a brilliant family and professional background, no need to explain why ViV chose her as the first of many- more- to-come personalities to be on its front cover page!
Born of celeb Haitian journalist Aubelin Jolicoeur and of Canadian mother Claire Sirois on May 23rd 1972, at Canap
Vert Hospital, in Port-au-Prince, she studied in Montreal, Canada, where she graduated in Early Childhood Education. She constantly travelled to Haiti, her home, and developed a special interest in tourism based on her passion for her country. She experienced the tourism industry in Montreal and always wanted to participate in Haitis, knowing that the Antillean Pearl had so much to offer! Her wish was granted when Stephanie BalmirVilledrouin, Minister of Tourism, gave her the great opportunity to be a part of her Cabinet, where she launched the contest to select Haitis new tourism logo with the slogan: Haiti, Experience it! Three years ago, she married Mario Brutus, with whom she had maintained a sentimental relationship for the past 13 years and who also works at PV City Hall. Amongst her multiple professional activities, she has been in the restaurant business since 2005, which has allowed her to meet many people, to establish significant contacts and also to improve her natural public relations skills. Motivated by the faith she had in Michel J. Martelly and in his vision for the countrys progress, she participated in his presidential campaign, after which President Martelly and Prime Minister Lamothe appointed her as Interim Mayor of Ption-Ville on November 8th 2012. Since then, she has deployed her best efforts to improve the quality of life and services of the district.
Good morning Mayor. First of all I want to thank you for granting me this interview. Good morning Nastassia! It is with great pleasure that I am accepting this interview. I congratulate you on your new baby and want to wish you the best! This is a new challenge for you, which may be full of surprises, but you are such a young and vibrant woman that I am sure you will succeed and that ViV will be appreciated by all! It is so flavorful that folks from all generations will undoubtedly enjoy it! I can only advice you to work to the best of your capacities, to keep your head high and on your shoulders and to Never, Never allow people to bring you down.... Thats one of my secrets and today, I want to share it with you. I wish you great success and longevity! Thank you very much Mayor. I am flattered. As you know, all my family being originally from Ption-Ville and having spent most of my early youth years here, I have a very special interest in this district which is dear to my heart. I would like to start by thanking you as a resident of this beautiful place, for all the efforts you have deployed to improve its quality of life and services. Thank you Nastassia! I took on this challenge because I have always wanted to be part of the ones to make positive changes for my country! I appreciate the opportunity that President Michel Joseph Martelly and Prime Minister Laurent S Lamothe gave me, when they entrusted me with this big and great challenge! Likewise, my education has well taught me to always only take on something you know you can accomplish and to the best of you capacities! To never fear, always head strong and head on! When you were first appointed, what were the primary goals you set to reachin Ption-Ville and which of the latter was most challenging for you? I wanted to pull the people of PV together! From all social classes! To get as many people involved in the challenge! It is not MY personal town... We are a community and we all have a saying in what happens where we live! In addition, I wanted to see clearer. Too much congestion everywhere! Cars, merchants, graffiti, billboards... Too much commotion! So far, so good But finding trust and true collaboration from the employees has not been an easy task! People are
stuck in a Political turmoil, and you always have to watch out for those with bad intentions, slowing down on the important things! What are your immediate and long-term plans for Ption-Ville? So much to do!!! All is to be done! In the immediate term, to increasingly earn the trust of the citizens of PV... They see and believe in my vision, they want to get more involved and thats a GREAT step! To ensure security! Order and discipline, civic education and all that implies! To have a city that is more fluid. I am thinking of a New Ption-Ville and of as many things as God will help me to achieve! How would you rate the residents collaboration with the Mayors Office and what do you expect of them to further this cooperation? As mentioned before, I do have the collaboration not only of the private sector but the residents as well, and I avail myself of this opportunity to publicly thank all of them, and to invite the others to join in! Even the informal sector, with which, in spite of sometimes protesting against me, I always end up eating peanuts in my office afterwards! What measures do you consider could be adopted to alleviate the traffic problem in Ption-Ville for example? Thanks to this great collaboration of the private sector, we elaborated the new traffic plan for PV! This new plan is being implemented with the support of the Traffic Department and TPTC (Ministry of Public Works, Transportation and Communication)! I am grateful to all those who have contributed to this project! A marketplace was built to avoid the ambulatory merchants to trade in the streets. Nevertheless, some streets are still invaded with these merchants who represent a hazard to drivers and also put their lives at stake. How does the Mayors Office plan to remedy this situation? As you know, we have been working hard at liberating the sidewalks of the merchants. Their reasons for staying out there are understandable! The market places

Is an outgoing, dynamic and hard-working example of Haitis contemporary female professionals. are not practical and not easily accessible to the customer! That is why we look forward to obtaining collaboration to rehabilitate and facilitate these market places. Furthermore, we also need more cooperation from the clients! Dont buy in the streets! This is simply the result of the law of supply and demand. If no one bought in the streets the merchants would be compelled to go inside the market places! As I said, we are working on that. The Rue Og Fruit Market is being built and should be ready by the end of December, and La Coupe and Tll Market places are being rehabilitated! How do you combine your professional and family life? Thats the biggest challenge! Very hard to juggle!!! Its work, work, work, and, since my husband works with me and plays a big part in the proper functioning of City Hall, its all work, work, work! Do you feel any pressure or any type of gender discrimination from your male colleagues? Not at all!! President Martelly has broken these barriers since in power! Once again, thank you for receiving me and I wish you the best of luck in your administration. You are most welcome Nastassia and once again, break a leg!!!

Martelly et en sa vision de progrs pour le pays, elle participa sa campagne prsidentielle, aprs quoi le Prsident Martelly et le Premier Ministre Lamothe la nommrent Mairesse Intrimaire de Ption-Ville le 8 novembre 2012. Depuis lors, elle dploie ses meilleurs efforts pour amliorer la qualit de vie et de services du district. Je voulais aussi voir plus clair. Trop de congestion partout! Les voitures, les marchands, les graffitis, les panneaux daffichage Tout tait un vrai brouhaha! Mais fort heureusement, jusqu nouvel ordre, a se passe bien. Nanmoins, gagner la confiance et la collaboration sincre des employs, par contre, na pas t tche facile! Les gens semblent stagner dans un tourbillon politique et il faut toujours faire attention ceux de mauvaise foi qui ne font que ralentir la marche des choses importantes! Quels sont vos projets immdiats et long terme pour Ption-Ville? Il y a tant faire! Tout est faire! Dans limmdiat, gagner de plus en plus la confiance des citoyens de Ption-VilleIls voient et croient mon optique, ils veulent simpliquer plus fond, et cest un grand PAS! Garantir la scurit! Lordre et la discipline, lducation civique et tout ce que a implique! Avoir une ville plus fluide . Je pense la cration dune Nouvelle Ption-Ville et tant dautres choses que Dieu maidera accomplir. Comment coteriez-vous la collaboration des rsidents avec la mairie et quattendez-vous deux pour approfondir cette coopration? Comme je lai mentionn avant, non seulement je compte sur la collaboration du secteur priv, mais aussi sur celle des rsidents, et je profite de loccasion pour les remercier tous publiquement. En ce qui concerne les autres, il ne me reste qu leur dire : joignez-vous nous! Je compte mme sur lappui du secteur informel, quoiquil se manifeste parfois contre moi, mais nous finissons toujours par partager des pistaches mon bureau! Quelles sont les mesures qui, votre avis, pourraient tre adoptes, pour allger le problme de circulation, par exemple, Ption-Ville? Grce lnorme collaboration du secteur priv, nous avons pu laborer le nouveau plan de circulation pour Ption-Ville. Avec laide du Dpartement de la circulation et du TPTC (Ministre des Travaux Publics, Transport et Communication), ce nouveau plan a pu tre mis en uvre! Merci tous ceux qui ont collabor ce projet! Un march a t construit pour viter que les marchands ambulants vendent leurs produits dans les rues. Nanmoins les rues sont jusqu prsent envahies de ces marchands qui reprsentent un danger pour les conducteurs et aussi pour leur propre scurit. Comment la mairie pense-elle remdier cette situation? Comme tu le sais bien, on a travaill trs dur pour essayer de librer les trottoirs de marchands. On comprend bien les raisons pour lesquelles ils y sont! Les marchs ne sont ni pratiques et bien moins accessibles pour les clients! Cest donc pourquoi nous souhaitons pouvoir compter sur une collaboration pour les amnager et les rhabiliter. On demande aussi la coopration des clients! Nachetez pas dans les rues! Ce problme nest que le rsultat de la loi de loffre et de la demande. Si personne nachetait dans les rues, les marchands se verraient bien obligs de sinstaller dans les marchs! Comme je te lai dit, nous travaillons sur a, dautant plus que le March Aux fruits de la Rue Og est en pleine construction et devrait tre termin vers la fin du mois de dcembre et les Marchs La Coupe et Tll sont en rhabilitation! Comment arrivez-vous concilier votre vie familiale et votre vie professionnelle? Cest le plus grand dfi! Trs difficile pallier ce nest que travail, travail et travail et, vu que mon mari travaille avec moi et joue un rle trs important dans le bon fonctionnement de la Mairie, ce nest que travail, travail, travail! Mrs. Ambassador, based on the information we have gathered, it appears that you have previously worked in Haiti. Can you tell us how the country was back then? Prior to my current assignment, I had spent five years living in Haiti from 1985-1990 when I was working for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). That was a turbulent time in Haitis more recent history. Though Haiti today certainly faces many formidable challenges, I would say that relative to that period it is now a more stable and democratic country. In this sense I find it gratifying to be here today. Quels sont les points centraux de la coopration Hatiano-Amricaine? The U.S.-Haiti relationship is centered on honesty, transparency, and trust. I love this country. The United States loves this country. My government has pledged some $3.6 billion over a multi-year period to assist Haiti following the 2010 earthquake. That assistance helped with immediate relief efforts and is now going toward longer-term development priorities. Part of my job is to make sure that our help aligns with Haitian priorities and that it meets the genuine needs of the Haitian Government and people. I and staff at the American Embassy in Port-au-Prince work side-by-side each day with our Haitian friends and partners to make that happen.

I have two boys, and Steve has one boy and one girl. All of our children are adults now and they are fine people. I think Haitian women have the same priorities as those in the USA or Liberia, or Mali, or Tanzania. They want abetter life for their children. They want decent healthcare and education, and housing.They want to live in dignity and without threats or violence. Women are survivors; they are tough and soft as the same time. As Haitian-American DJs, who were two of the first to introduce House music to Haiti 20 years ago, they lead the EDM (electronic dance music) movement individually as Underground DJs and Regimix. When life brought them to Miami, LEGER worked the music scene for a while, performing in clubs like: Amnesia and Bash on South Beach before they both put their musical predilections aside, and established themselves in the Miami art community as high quality photo and video art producers. They stepped back from the music scene and watched as EDM revolutionized itself over the years into what is known today as an eclectic phenomenon. In 2011 driven by his resolute passion for music, Stanley (PRATTO) brought together, MKSHFT Council, a collaborative assembly of DJs, musicians and music producers. Reginald (LEGER) joined MKSHFT Council enlivened, and together they have been rediscovering and revolutionizing the EDM scene here in Miami even further. They have reinvented themselves and are making their presence known in the marvel that has consumed todays pop culture. EDM has transformed the music industry, says PRATTO, following with pop stars are singing to beats created by DJs and DJs have now become stand alone pop stars in their own right. Their appearances at exclusive venues such as LMNT in Wynwood and at the Drogerie on South Beach, are known to draw in crowds as they become captivated by the clean beats and precise transitions, and enthralled by the immensely palpable adrenaline-filled love of music that is habitually exuded by these two DJs. But this is only part of their musical contribution to this industry, which is constantly evolving. Stanley and Reginalds true passion involves melding and remixing different genres of music with music and beats from the top of the charts. Miami is not only the melting pot of the world; it has become a melting pot for music, from Latin salsa to Haitian zouk, from Caribbean reggae to American country music. As music producers, who are attached to their culture, PRATTO and LEGER have found a way to incorporate their Haitian roots into the global electronic world. They have collaborated with other Haitian artists like Fader Lima, Gaetan Policard (I AmG) and Jeff Policard, who themselves have collaborated with other musical artist from around the world. With this, MKSHFT Council will soon be releasing several multi-genres EDM tracks. PRATTO & LEGER together with the MKSHFT Council hope this will become a platform to introduce the concept of EDM festivals, which has become the new waive of music concerts all around the world, to Haiti. This will not only bring opportunity for exposure for new up and coming Haitian musical artists and DJs, but will also open many doors for Haiti as a whole and it will for once bring Haiti into a positive limelight.

She recently created some custom pieces for designer/fashionsta Vashtie Kola, singer/dancer Lunise Morse of RAM and up and coming singer/songwriter Devon Baldwin. Riva Nyri Prcil was born in Brooklyn, New York of half Haitian and half Irish/Russian descent and graduated with a degree in Music Therapy from Loyola University New Orleans. She co-founded the Hope for Haiti task force, which was assembled to identify relief resources and plan for a sustained aid effort and also co-founded Li! Li! Li!, a reading out loud program in Creole for Haitis children who became displaced after the earthquake. Aside from creating unique pieces of art with love, Riva is currently working on her debut solo album which will be predominantly in Haitian Creole. If her charismatic personality is any indication of how invested she is in her work and her designs then Im sure that we can expect a lot more from Riva in the future. Give us a little history, how did you get into art, design? Donnes-nous un peu de feedback, comment tes-tu lance dans lart, dans le dessein? I started beading while I was in Haiti around the age of seven. I also took art and sculpture classes Chez Tiga and that had a big influence on me as well. While in Performing Arts High School in New York, I decided to take it a step further and attend some classes to learn more about the craftsmanship and refining my jewelry making skills by incorporating new materials like stones, metals, hand painting and dyeing, etc. Jai commenc avec le perlage quand jtais en Hati vers lge de sept ans. I listen to and perform everything from Racine and traditional Haitian music to reggae, jazz and classical. One thing that always remains constant and consistent is the passion in my delivery. I am always sure never to compromise my love for whatever it is that I am doing, including my jewelry making. I put a lot of thought and love into each piece so that theyre uniquely crafted for the individual. I pull influences from various cultures while listening to music as inspiration for my designs. I enjoy texturizing metals by rhythmically hammering, sanding and polishing them to perfection. I have also been making lots of engraved custom pieces, which has been a great learning experience for me. Je dois avouer que ce sont le laiton et lor de 18k. I like for my work to be bold and unique yet wearable for my customers who arent as daring as some others. I usually create a positive space for myself to work in. I light a candle or incense, put on some music, have some fruit around for energy and vibe out as I create with love. I design what feels best at the moment and allow it to flow naturally. 1- Start with the early initiation, in other words: Let the baby look for and find the breast within the hour after its birth. 2- Watch the GOOD GRIP, meaning that: a) The babys mouth is wide open b)The larger part of the areola (the dark area of the breast) is in the babys mouth. c) The lips are turned outward (particularly watch the inferior lip) d) The nose and the chin are very close to the breast 3- Frequently change position. At the end of the breast feed, squeeze some of the last milk from the feed (has more fat) and spread it on the tip of the breasts and leave them uncovered during approximately 15 to 20 minutes. 4- Breastfeed on demand, night and day without trying to regulate the baby. 5- Sleep when baby is asleep! 1- Faire linitiation prcoce cest--dire : Laisser le bb chercher et trouver le sein dans lheure qui suit sa naissance. 2- Surveiller la BONNE PRISE cest dire : a) la bouche est grande ouverte b) la plus grande partie de larole (partie fonce du sein) doit tre dans la bouche du bb c) les lvres sont tournes vers lextrieur (surveiller particulirement la lvre inferieure) d) le nez et le menton sont tout prs du sein. 3- Changer souvent de position A la fin de la tte exprimer un peu de lait de fin de tte (plus gras) passez-le sur les bouts de seins et laissez ceux-ci a lair 15 a 20 minutes. 4- Allaitez la demande, de jour et de nuit sans vouloir rgler le bb. 5- Dormez quand bb dort!

Sadly enough, and in spite of the fact that its huge benefits for mother and child have been repeatedly promoted through media propaganda, breastfeeding has become increasingly less popular amongst young women. The main reason: aesthetics!!! Mothers no longer wish to sacrifice the beauty of their breasts to feeding their babies. Yet, if only they realized how important it was for their childs as well as their health, maybe they would reconsider. Research shows that babies immune system will not be fully mature for many years. While it is developing, breast-milk protects them. Their own immune system also develops more rapidly than does babies who are fed formula. The list of illnesses which Breastfeeding has been shown to be protective against is quite extensive: painful ear infections, upper and lower respiratory ailments, allergies, intestinal disorders, colds, viruses, staph, strep and e coli infections, diabetes, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, many childhood cancers, meningitis, pneumonia, urinary tract infections, salmonella, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome(SIDS) as well as lifetime protection from Crohns Disease, ulcerative colitis, some lymphomas, insulin dependent diabetes, and for girls, breast and ovarian cancer, and, likewise, it has been shown that women who breastfeed are less prone to developing these cancers. Breastfeeding protects your newborn through the immune molecules, called antibodies, present in breast milk. Not only do you give your baby immunities to illnesses to which you are immune but also those to which you have been exposed. Nursing also allows your baby to give germs to you so that your immune system can respond and can synthesize antibodies! This means that if your baby has come in contact with something which you have not, it will pass these germs to you at the next nursing; during that feeding, your body will start to manufacture antibodies for that particular germ. By the time the next feeding arrives, your entire immune system will be working to provide immunities for you and your baby. If you are exposed to any bacteria or viruses, your body will be making antibodies against them and these will be in your milk. And thats only health-wise!!! The profound bond which breastfeeding creates between mother and child is a true blessing! Its really an awesome natural system! So, ask yourself this question: Is maintaining firm and beautiful boobies worth the price of depriving your child and yourself of such benefits? And in any case, plastic surgery is no longer inaccessible

Its that time of the year again! The weather is cooling down, the leaves are turning fiery colors, and wardrobes are darkening. Fall is fashions favorite season because you get to layer all kinds of d i f f e r e n t c l o t h e s , textures and patterns. This seasons biggest trends include leather, plaids, and prints. The color palette ranges from cobalt blue to emerald green, shades of pink, grey, and black and white. Living in warm weather countries makes it difficult for us to embrace fall fashion, but have no fear, with the help of Just Cito boutique, we came up with a couple of ways to wear autumn wear without dying of heat exhaustion.

Nous voil cette poque de lanne o il commence faire frisquet, les feuilles acquirent des couleurs enflammes et les garde-robes sassombrissent. Lautomne est la saison prfre du monde de la mode durant laquelle on peut porter diffrents styles de vtements, de textures et de motifs. Cette anne, les tendances sont le cuir, les motifs carreaux et les imprims. La palette de couleurs va du bleu de cobalt, au vert meraude, des tons de rose, de gris au blanc et noir. Life is shorter than we think, so enjoy it to the utmost and know that your burden is lighter when you accept what life has to offer. Every cloud has a silver lining! The darkest of nights cannot prevent the sun from rising.
I am a conference interpreter and have practiced this profession from 1973 to date; my hope is to continue as long as I can provide quality services. I discovered my skill while doing a favor for a US Judge who was having a hard time understanding a fellow countryman, in spite of his French-speaking interpreters efforts. Since then, interpretation has become my career and has enabled me to travel worldwide. Nevertheless, Haiti is and remains my home and the place where I want to be. Apart from my daily activities, I devote myself to research on Arab culture which is a large part of my heritage. I have had many setbacks in my quest for A thousand and One Nights, but I still follow my path in all serenity and hope to live long enough to produce an interesting book on the subject for future and current generations. Future Goals, Perspectives Perspectives davenir A comfortable retirement in a place away from the hustle bustle of Port-au-Prince, but definitely in Haiti. Une retraite confortable dans un endroit en dehors du tohu-bohu de Port-au-Prince, mais certainement en Hati.
La vie est plus courte quon ne le pense, il faut en profiter pleinement et savoir que notre croix est plus lgre lorsquon accepte ce que la vie nous apporte. Every cloud has a silver lining! La nuit le plus noire ne peut empcher le soleil de se lever.
