When to Go
Anytime is a good time to go golfing in Ireland. Right? Well, not exactly.
Given the choice, most tourists prefer playing in warmer and drier
conditions. Here’s how to maximize your chances of doing so.

Driving in Ireland
The roads are narrow and a bit bumpy in most
parts of Ireland so you won’t be able to cover as
much ground as you’re used to on the high-speed
freeways and autobahns of the U.K., U.S., and
mainland Europe. Please plan accordingly.

Driving Tips
If you’re not used to driving on the left-side of the
road, repeat after us: “Stay to the left, look to the
right.” Repeat that each time you get behind the
wheel. Designate a navigator who does all of the
route planning, map reading, and sign watching. It
will help the driver immensely. The Argus and Dan
Dooley car rental web sites have helpful informa-
tion on driving safely in Ireland.
Route Planning
You should be able to determine your driving
routes using the Collins map. If you want a second
opinion, a good online resource is The Automobile
Association (www.theaa.com). Click on the Route
