DIANNE MAY M.

RUBI 2013-79510 Art Stud 1 Ayala Museum Critique Paper Museums were meant to be uplifting, educational and useful, not frivolous.[1] One of the extraordinary museums in Philippines is Ayala Museum located just outside the Greenbelt Mall, one could conveniently walk to this museum. It is the collection of gold jewelry from pre and during Spanish times with any European, American, and Columbian museum display of old gold jewelry. Enjoy the diorama display capturing the culture and history of the Philippines. As you exit, it shows the various political stages the country was ruled under and a description of each leader including their height which was interesting.[2] However, Ayala museum is small compared to the National Museum of Manila. Moreover, Ayala Museum is distinguished for its remarkable circling collections and excellence educational programs. The "Crossroads of Civilizations" which is recently added exhibit which shows the "Gold of Ancestors" display, its quite one of the best design museum Ive been through. On the one hand, the exhibits are sophisticated, interesting, and meticulously created. You can easily see the labels that are small and densely written but barely legible. The significance aof paintings and artworks displayed on the wall was proclaimed by the lighting which is historic. Its exhibitions helps us recall the history of the Philippines which are arrange properly. The museums authority and veracity of its exhibit was proclaimed by the dark spaces, dramatic lighting and labelling of each artwork posted on the wall. the museum has to function as an institution for the prevention of blindness in order to make works work. And making works work is the museums major mission. Works work when, by stimulating inquisitive looking, sharpening perception, raising visual intelligence, widening perspective, and marking off neglected significant kinds, they participate in the organization of experience, in the making and re-making of our worlds. [1] On the one hand, it tells us of the importance of our different skills and it employs that we need to practice and improve this skills. It helps us develop our sense of curiosity wherein it invites us to question and to challenge our knowledge about our own history. Going back to the part of Ayala Museum in the Millenium of Contact, the Chinese and Southeast Asian ceramics found in the Philippines with more than 500 ceramic objects on display is exhibited. The exhibition of Boat Gallery where replicas of many boats which have visited the country are displayed. There are Chinese junks, Spanish Galleons, and Arabian Baghalas on display. Likewise, the Diorama part is located on the second level, there are step by step windows depicting Philippine History, from Prehistoric Philippines to the People Power Revolution. Carved by artisans from Paete, Laguna. The Dioramas are achievements done in woodcarvings as well as in miniature paintings and decoration. The section shows both the native as well as the various foreign effects and immigrants that settled in the country, thereby affecting the culture and the fortunes of the people.

The museum is not built to set up to provoke or unsettle. All in all, it wants us to learn about our history. On how different heroes fight for our countrys independence. I also helps us see not to feel anxious or misplaced or frightened with the history of the Philippines because we have the most amazing history for our heroes fight the Spaniard and Americans not really just for our independence that until now we experience but because of the love to our country and their fellow men. Ultimately, Ayala Museum makes me feel to learn that I myself needs to embrace and revel our history and work of art. REFERENCES.
