The College
Brasenose is one of Oxfords most popular Colleges and has a reputation for excellence within a very friendly environment. Brasenose has over 7000 alumni working in all areas of life. The lumni !elations and "evelopment Office has in place a successful programme of activities for alumni and has esta#lished an effective fundraising campaign. The office is situated in the heart of the College and consists of the "evelopment "irector$ who is a %ellow of the College$ a &enior "evelopment 'xecutive$ a (anager of "evelopment &ervices$ an nnual %und Officer$ an lumni !elations Officer and a part)time "evelopment ssistant.

Job Description
The primary purpose of the post is to #uild the Colleges regular giving$ increasing participation levels and funds raised. The methods employed include a telephone campaign and regular$ targeted mailings. *t is desira#le #ut not essential that the successful candidate has experience of working within a fundraising environment$ prefera#ly within education+ and has previous experience with annual fund,telephone fundraising.

Principal

esponsibilities:

#anaging the Annual Fund -roducing fundraising literature and other relevant documentation including solicitation letters and donation forms. "raft and prepare .thank you letters and ensure that donors are thanked in an appropriate and timely manner. 'nsure that gifts are properly and accurately recorded on the data#ase and that direct de#it collections and standing orders are administered in a timely manner. -roducing an annual statement to regular donors of their gifts for tax purposes. 'nsuring that /ift id is re0uested for all gifts and to work closely with colleagues in the Bursary to ensure its smooth collection. !egular maintenance of the "ata#ase and production of mailing lists for the annual fund and pu#lication mailings. -roduce occasional information lists for other College personnel. 'sta#lishing 1with the "evelopment "irector2 a structured programme of thanking donors and ensuring they are kept informed and involved in pro3ects they have supported. Planning and managing telephone campaign -re) and post)campaign administration. !ecruitment of calling team. Caller training. (anagement of the call room. Track outstanding pledges and monitor pledge payment activity and reminders.

4iaising with 5C! and 6C! to raise awareness of development activity and to involve current students. %acilitate the identification of ma3or gifts and potential legacies. 7orking closely with the lumni !elations and "evelopment "irector and other staff to develop fundraising strategies and integrate with university)wide and alumni)led initiatives. ny other reasona#le duties associated with the lumni !elations and "evelopment Office.

e$uirements:
%ssential &trong self)motivation and the a#ility to work as a team mem#er. -roven organisational skills with an a#ility to prioritise and manage multiple tasks and variety of demands. ttention to detail. 6igh degree of professionalism$ tact and diplomacy$ and commitment to maintain confidentiality. 'xcellent written$ oral and interpersonal skills. /ood telephone manner. #ility to engage and work successfully with a variety of constituencies such as alumni$ %ellows and the wider College community. dvanced knowledge of (icrosoft Office$ reporting tools and data#ases. -roficiency and experience with information technology and #asic accounting principles. high degree of accuracy in record keeping. Desirable -revious experience with annual fund,telephone fundraising. 'xperience of fundraising in an educational environment. 'ducated to degree level or e0uivalent professional experience. /ood working knowledge of !aisers 'dge. 8nowledge and or experience of the 9niversity of Oxford. 'xperience of recruiting and working with volunteers.

Terms and Conditions


Appointment: This is a permanent full time post$ which we would like to fill as soon as possi#le. There will #e an initial pro#ationary period of six months. "uring this period the post holders employment may #e terminated #y one weeks notice on either side. Thereafter the period of notice to terminate employment is one month. The appointment will #e conditional on verification of the successful candidates availa#ility for employment in this country$ and su#3ect to the receipt of satisfactory references and medical clearance. &alar': '0uivalent to /rade : of the Oxford 9niversity -ay &cale$ currently ;<=$:>: to ;<>$?=<$ depending on previous related experience. dvancement up the scale is on merit. #eals: 'mployees are entitled to take lunch free of charge in 6all each day they work when the kitchen is open.
