Using this system characteristic equation and the pump data supplied in the handout, values for Q were subbed in, tabulated and graphed. The resulting pump curves are shown below:

This is far below the required levels. Therefore two of these pumps were tested in paralled to see if this would be adequate. Again, the operating point here was not sufficient. Therefore two pumps were used in series and in conjunction with two more in parallel.
