Divine Rimpe Mr.

Janosch 902/ CI 4/9 Shakespeare Blame Essay Did you know such a strong love could die, like fresh flowers without water? The noble families of Montagues and Capulets are to blame for the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet , because of their lifelong villainous feuds. The Montague and Capulet families hatred for each other are the main causes towards their children, Romeo and Juliet's death. The Montague family are to blame for the death of Romeo and Juliet. Lord Montague the head of the clan, is a rival of Lord Capulet. In Act 1 scene 1, a fight breaks out between Montagues and Capulets serving men, even Lord Capulet and Lord Montague fought themselves. In Romeo & Juliet by Peter Holland page #7, Montague yells, Thou villain Capulet, hold me not let me go. This quote supports my claim, because it shows the emotion of anger Montague has towards Capulet, and wants to draw his sword. So, if Montague really hates Capulet, why would he let his own flesh and blood date the daughter of the one he hates? The Capulet family is also to blame for the death of Romeo and Juliet. The main reason, is because of their conflict with the Montagues. Lord Capulet and Montague dont get along, and it only intensified after the opening fight in Act 1 scene 1. On page #7 in, "Romeo & Juliet Capulet says ," My sword, I say, Old Montague is come, and flourishes his blade in spite of me. This quote portrays how Lord Capulet is calling Montague out, for a duel, even while he was hurt, supporting my claim that their petty feud is to blame for the death of their children, Romeo and Juliet. This is the prime reason why Romeo and Juliet had to keep their love a secret, because this would be frowned upon by their fighting families, and ultimately result and larger conflict between the clans.

Some people may conclude that Friar Lawrence is to blame for the tragic death of Romeo and Juliet, however he is not to be blamed. Friar lawrence was one of the only people that knew about him and Juliet. All Friar Lawrence has done is try to help Romeo and Juliet by keeping their unfound love each other a secret because he knew their families undying hatred for one another would cause some serious consequences. In Romeo & Juliet on page #62, act 2 scene 6, Friar says Come, come with me and we will make short, for, by your leaves, you shall not stay alone Till holy church incorporate two in one This evidence supports my claim, because it shows how Friar Lawrence will marry Romeo and Juliet , even though there families are enemies. So, in the end, the families of Montagues and Capulets are to blame for the deaths of their children. This is because of their feuds and hatred between them. If there was no conflict between them, Romeo and Juliet wouldnt have to hide their love, and they wouldn't have died. Though Montague and Capulet are to blame, there shouldn't be anything to happen to them, they have already lost their own children, so they have to live with that. Even though, in Act 5 scene 3 in Romeo & Juliet, both families agree to bury their grievances and acknowledge their losses.
