Essential Qualities of a Biblical Counselor Final Project Guidelines Final Projects need to be submitted on SBC Onlines Learning Path

as one document that includes: 1. Transcription of 15-20 minute segment of counseling with notes/reflections/comments 2. Completed EQ-i Reflection questions 3. Two 5-page Papers focusing on one character quality of your choice and one functional quality of your choice Part #1: Transcription Please review the following two pages from Eriksen and McAuliffe to see an example of how to create a transcription of your counseling session. Your transcription does not need to have an identical format, but the same elements (verbatim session, skills used and reason, and your evaluation of your interventions and their various impacts on your counselee) must be present.

Part #3: Two 5-page Papers focusing on one character quality of your choice and one

functional quality of your choice.


Part #3 will be a more extensive discussion of one character quality of your choice and one functional quality of your choice that were covered in class. Using the evaluations and reflections of your transcription, the reflections from the EQ-i Test, your Counselees Feedback, and other important resources youve garnered throughout the course, you will be required to write two 5-page papers (typed, double-spaced). You will choose one character quality and one functional quality on which to focus. Then: a. Identify your strengths and weaknesses for both of these qualities; b. Provide specific examples of how these strengths and weaknesses have manifested themselves in your life and your classroom counseling; c. Describe and discuss the insights youve gained into those areas of strengths and weaknesses referring to the EQ-i, counseling sessions, and the feedback you received from your counselee; in your insights, address how it interacts with your heart strongholds and your relationship with the Savior; d. Lay out a developed strategy, an action plan for growth in each area; e. Describe your present ministry context. How is your area of ministry impacted by your thoughtful, active application of growth? and; f. Discuss how growth or thoughtfulness in these essential qualities have already affected how you counsel/minister to people for the Kingdom today.
