Installation Steps for Authorware MacOS

Here are the steps to install perfectly Authorware on MacOS. ON EACH INSTALLATION MACOS WILL ASK FOR YOUR ADMIN USER PASSWORD You have to download the files you need for the installation at this place: http://www.ilasalle.com/courses/Moodle/Documents/Support/Firefox/MacOS.zip 1. Next, you will have to uncompress the folder on your desktop. 2. You will have those elements in the folder : Firefox 3.5.7, Stuffit Expander, Authorware Web Player 3. To see if Firefox is installed, click on the Go menu. See image below.

4. Next you have to choose application. See image below.

5. In the window that appears find the Firefox icon and drag it in the Trash. 6. Next, to see if Authorware is already on your computer type Authorware in the Search field. See image below.

You have to find the AuthorwareWebPlayer-PPC f and click on it. The window location will appear on your screen. 7. You have to drag the two elements showed in the trash can. See image below.

8. This is really important to empty the trash can to uninstall those elements. It needs to be empty in order to install properly Authorware. 9. Next, you will have to install Firefox. So you have to uncompress the Firefox357.dmg that is on your desktop. See image below.

10. Once the file is open, a window like the one below will appear.

11. You only have to drag the Firefox icon on the Applications folder like in the image below.

12. The installation of firefox should be complete. Next you have to go in the Applications folder and follow the steps below.

13. We localize the Firefox icon and do a CTRL+ left mouse button click to make the alternate menu appear. We have to choose Get Infos on this menu. See image below.

14. A little window will appear with some informations about the program. We have to find the box Rosetta and check it by clicking on it. See image below. Maybe Rosetta isnt installed on our Mac yet. The operating system will ask us to install it.

15. You will have to restart Firefox. It will be slower than before but its normal. You will have to go in the Firefox menu and choose Preferences. See images below.

16. In the Content tab on the new window, you have to uncheck the Block popup windows parameter. See image below.

17. We now have to close this window and open the Tools menu and choose Add-ons. See image below.

18. In the window that appears, we have to disable different plugins. The most important one to disable is Default plugins 2.0. We can disable everything except the Flash Player. See image below.

19. We now close Firefox to decompress the expander_Installer_en_74_promo.dmg. See image below.

20. Once the file is open, a window appears. We have to click on the Stuffit Expander 2010 Installer app. See image below.

21. Once the installation is over, a little window appears in wich we have to drag the AW701WebPlayerOSXCmpl.hqx icon in. See image below.

22. Once the Authorware file is uncompressed (see image below)

We have to double-click on it to start the installation. See image below.

23. We have to click on Install and follow instructions. Once the installation is done we have to click on Quit. See image below.

24. We now have to restart Firefox et return into the Tools menu and in Add-ons. We have to find the Authorware Web Player plugins in the scrolling list. If the plugin is in the list, everything is fine. Else, we have to redo the steps by uninstalling Authorware and Firefox first.
