Sounds

All sounds are vibrations traveling through the air as sound waves. Sound waves are caused by the vibrations of objects and radiate outward from their source in all directions

The simplest kind of sound wave is a sine wave. Pure sine waves rarely exist in the natural world, but they are a useful place to start because all other sounds can be broken down into combinations of sine waves, wave clearly demonstrates the three fundamental characteristics of a sound wave: frequency, amplitude, and phase.

Frequency is the rate, or number of times per second, that a sound wave cycles from positive to negative to positive again.

Amplitude (or intensity) refers to the strength of a sound wave, which the human ear interprets as volume or loudness.

Phase compares the timing between two similar sound waves

Light
is electromagnetic radiation that is visible to the human eye, and is responsible for the sense of sight.

The speed of light in a vacuum is defined to be exactly 299,792,458 m/s (approximately 186,282 miles per second).

There are many sources of light. The most common light sources are thermal: a body at a given temperature emits a characteristic spectrum of black-body radiation. A simple thermal source is sunlight, the radiation emitted by the chromosphere of the Sun at around 6,000 Kelvin peaks in the visible region of the electromagnetic spectrum when plotted in wavelength units [17] and roughly 44% of sunlight energy that reaches the ground is visible

Our brains and eyes act together to make extraordinary things happen in perception. Movies are sequences of still pictures. Magazine pictures are arrays of dots. Light acts like particleslittle light bulletsthat stream from the source. This explains how shadows work. Light also acts like wavesripples in spaceinstead of bullets. This explains how rainbows work. In fact, light is both. This "wave-particle duality" is one of the most confusingand wonderfulprinciples of physics.

Scientists have spent lifetimes developing consistent physical, biological, chemical, and mathematical explanations for these principles.

Energy
is the ability to do work, and work is moving something against a force, like gravity. There are a lot of different kinds of energy in the universe, and that energy can do different things.

We use energy to do work and make all movements. When we eat, our bodies transform the food into energy to do work. When we run or walk or do some work, we burn energy in our bodies

the global energy system has evolved in a cleaner direction in the last 25 years. The share of world primary energy derived from natural gas the cleanest fossil fuel has increased by more than 25%. So has the use and generation of renewable energy sources.

Energy can be found in many things, and takes many forms. There is a kind of energy called kinetic energy in objects that are moving. There is something that scientists call potential energy in objects at rest that will make them move if resistance is removed.
