Hi Aurora, Thank you for taking time to talk with me today. I have spoken with Sylvia about your questions. Section 2/B We do not have a reference for this. It is somewhere in the literature, however this exact verbiage was decided on by the Pain Champions, Acute Pain Service and Palliative Care. You can contact them for more guidance. (see attached Screen Shot of EPIC opioid nave order). Section 2/G Again, these were determined the safe PCA dosages by the same teams as above. We are not entirely sure of their rationale, however if you would contact them they would probably say something similar to They have looked extensively at the research and then have tried to match it to best fit our patient population. Now especially that we have merged with North and South. This has been revised to meet ALL of our patients needs. Section2/M Any provider can order the Palliative Care/ONC IV PCA order set. We have had EPIC generate the automatic consult so that ANY provider can place the order, specifically in the night when the Palliative Care Team is not in house. When the consult comes through the next day they can follow up. However the ordering provided does not NEED to consult them prior to orderingthis is the purpose of the AUTOMATIC consult. Section 2/R For subcutaneous PCA infusions it is recommended that Palliative Care is consulted, however it is not necessary. This was decided by the Palliative Care team that this type of infusion can be used by any provided. I hope this helps!! Take Care, Krystle

Hi, Krystle. I'm working today and tomorrow as charge, so I can probably find 15 minutes to call you. Any particular times that work or don't work for you? How about this morning? Aurora
