The Annual Rummage and Bake sale

Saturday, November 21 from 8:00 am-1:00 pm.
Please be collecting your donations through the month. Best sellers include furniture, books,
rugs, kitchen items, children toys, baby items (no clothes), tools, lamps, vintage jewelry, towels and
linens, baked goods, especially pies and Christmas crafts, etc. Please check out your home, garage,
attic, basement for unused or under-used items you could donate.
Bake your tried and true recipes that you know others love and will purchase. We always sell
out on our baked goods, so any extra baked items would be greatly appreciated! Also this year we will
have tables available for crafters - no fee but we ask that you "tithe" your sales to the Penny Crusade!
Let's finish out the Penny Crusade with a final big effort - a record breaking year of giving in the midst of a difficult economy!
What a great God we have!
You may begin bringing your donations on Tuesday,
ovember 17.
We kindly ask that you do not bring any clothes and we will only take gently used items.
All proceeds will go to Advent Christian Missions.

...via e-mail instead of through the postal service, you would help us save an additional $100 per printing –
equaling a total savings of $1,200 per year, and that is in addition to what we already save. If you would receive
the church newsletter via e-mail, you can directly help us defray our printing costs and still receive the same
newsletter each month.
There are other benefits associated with receiving the newsletter via e-mail besides saving resources. If
there is an article you like and would like to share it with someone else, you can quickly cut and paste it into an
e-mail and send it off. And since the newsletter is published in “PDF” format, you can also increase the size of
the print if there are portions of the newsletter you find difficult to read. For those of you who like having a physi-
cal “paper copy” of the newsletter, you could simply print out the electronic version from your home printer even
if you subscribed via e-mail. You could even print it out on used paper if you wanted to be more “Green”.
If you would like to help us conserve our resources by becoming an e-mail subscriber, please send the
church an e-mail at: newlife@centurytel.net and just put “newsletter” in the subject line and we will get you
subscribed electronically to the newsletter. You can also call the church at (608)-356-3367, to inform us. If you
are really tech savvy you can even “TEXT” your request in by texting the word “newsletter” with your e-mail ad-
dress to the number 608-963-1205, and we will get you switched over. I realize that not everyone has a computer
or e-mail, and I want to assure you that the church will continue to print out and mail newsletters to those who
wish to receive it via the postal service. However, if for any reason you would no longer like to receive the news-
letter via USPS or e-mail, please contact the church by any one of the means above and let us know of your deci-
sion. Thank you for helping New Life Church be a better steward of it’s resources.

• A nominating committee has been formed. It includes: Pastors Jesse, Pastor Jed, Jerry Nims, Katie Green, Carol
Nimmow, and Elsie Green.

• The finance committee made recommendations to adjust the ‘09 budget and reduce some of the budgeted expenses
for the year. The finance chair noted that budget changes have reduced the projected budgeted deficit. However, the
year end difference between actual giving and actual expenses may still be significant due to expenses incurred
already this year. It was also noted that actual giving in the past few months has matched actual expenses.

• Pastor’s Reports: Sermons are posted online and are getting played. All computers are now on the wireless network.
Jed & Jesse are still working on developing a welcome packet for visitors. Jed & Jesse going to a 2 day seminar next
