Divine Discourse by Shri Datta Swami on April 4, 2014 [April 4, 2014] All the three sacred epics of Hinduism

(the Ramayanam, the Bharatam and the Bhaga atam! deal "ith the main concept, "hich is the contemporary human incarnation of the unimagina#le $od on this earth for the sa%e of humanity& 'nfortunately, this main point is not impressed in our minds so far in spite of the special mention in the $ita a#out the human incarnation (Manusheem tanumashritam!& (e are ery much fascinated to the medium or the e)ternal pac%ing material than the internal a#solute $od, the precious diamond that is pac%ed& A #eggar in the sil% shirt is gi en more alue than the %ing in the cotton shirt& *ndra, a soul in the energetic #ody, is only ser ant of $od, "ho "as gi en more alue than +rishna, the a#solute $od pac%ed in the human #ody& ,he energetic #ody is li%e sil% shirt and the human #ody is li%e cotton shirt& God also enters the energetic body as in the case of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva for the sake of the souls existing in the energetic bodies, which may be angels or even the departed souls from this earth. At the same time, the energetic #ody may contain only soul and not $od& -n this earth also the human #odies contain souls and a specific human #ody may contain $od as in the case of +rishna& ,he repulsion #et"een common media is common in the upper "orld as "ell as on this earth& ,he angels and departed souls enclosed in the energetic #odies neglect the energetic incarnation of $od in the upper "orld& Here also, the same negligence comes to the human #eings not to care the human incarnation& The negligence is based on the ego and ealousy to the common media. *n the Ramanayanam and the Bharatam, .ra rutti is stressed, "hich is the esta#lishment of /ustice re/ecting the in/ustice& !ravrutti is very important for God, who always likes that "is creation should run peacefully. #ivrutti is important for the soul, which is the personal uplift by coming very close to God. +rishna sho"ed His care for .ra rutti in the Bharatam and sho"ed His concern for 0i rutti in the Bhaga atam& ,he de otees uplifted in the Bhaga atam are the sages #orn as $opi%as& ,hese sages too% ery long time of millions of #irths to ac1uire the true %no"ledge and to confirm it in their hearts& ,his true %no"ledge "as gi en to them #y 2ord 3attatreya, (ho "as "orshipped #y them as their spiritual preacher (4adguru!& ,he essence of the true spiritual %no"ledge is only to recogni5e and totally surrender to the contemporary human incarnation, "hich alone is rele ant to the humanity& ,his true spiritual

%no"ledge o#tained "as concentrated #y the sages through thin%ing again and again and mutual discussions and de#ates& 4uch process of concentration is the real penance (TaddhitapahVijijnasasva 6eda!& ,he spiritual %no"ledge is called as 7nana 8oga& ,he force of confirmation of it through concentration is called as Bha%ti 8oga or de otion& 'nless the %no"ledge is associated "ith de otion, the practical implementation, +arma 8oga, "ill not materiali5e& ,he true %no"ledge is the #asic foundation, "hich is the purest and most sacred as praised in the $ita& *t is said in the $ita that %no"ledge can cancel the fruits of actions and also actions (Vrujinam santarishyasi, Jnanaagnih sarvakarmani!& +no"ledge can alone #ring reali5ation and transformation of the soul& -nce this is achie ed, all your difficulties, the fruits of your sins disappear since %no"ledge cancels the fruits& ,he soul "ill not do any "rong action further due to reali5ation and hence, %no"ledge cancels the actions also& ,he reason is that %no"ledge #rings true reali5ation and there is no need of punishment after this reali5ation& .unishment is only for transformation and not for engeance& ,herefore, such a long time "as ta%en #y sages to ac1uire and confirm the true spiritual %no"ledge& -nce such perfection is attained, the practical implementation too% one #irth only in "hich the sages "ere #orn as $opi%as& ,he sages could con1uer the three types of ego in such a long time& ,he three types are9 1!ego of caste 2!ego of gender and :!ego of education& ,he first "as remo ed since the Brahmin sages accepted the #irth as shepherds& ,he second "as remo ed #y accepting the #irth as female& ,he third "as remo ed #y accepting the #irth of uneducated& ,he sages after ta%ing the #irth of $opi%as "ere ery much respecting the sages in their time pro ing that they got rid of /ealousy also& $go from the side of sages and ealousy from the side of Gopikas should be avoided by all the spiritual aspirants travelling in #ivrutti. ,he ;ssence of the Bhaga atam is to con1uer the three strong #onds (;eshanaas! for the sa%e of #ond "ith $od after eradicating the three types of ego and /ealousy& ,he #ond "ith money (3haneshana! is the most po"erful, "hich is the #asis for the other t"o #onds also& ,heir total income "as only from the sale of mil%, curd and #utter in the near#y <adhura city& ,he 2ord started stealing that money and those "ho recogni5ed the 2ord offered the same "ith pleasure& ,his sort of donation to +rishna "as purely #ased on their recognition of +rishna as $od only and not due to sympathy to poor since they %no" that +rishna "as ery rich& ,he second #ond (putreshana! "as also cut #y them since they

offered the #utter etc&, to +rishna, "hich "as stored #y them for the sa%e of their children& ,hey "ere also educated #y +rishna since their o"n children led #y +rishna stole the #utter etc&, in their o"n houses& ,he children sacrificed e en their attachment to"ards their o"n food& ,he third #ond is the lo e #et"een "ife and hus#and (dareshana! "as cut since $opi%as, the "i es of the illagers, danced "ith +rishna in Brinda anam& 'nfortunately people ta%e only this issue of the third #ond "hene er +rishna and $opi%as are remem#ered& ,hey gi e significance only to this dance forgetting the other t"o stronger #onds& ,hus, Bhaga atam is the su#/ect of practical test for the sages in the path of 0i rutti& The soul should get salvation %&oksha' or liberation from bonds by its own effort and the close approach %Sayu yam' is sanctioned by God. Hence, you should not as% sal ation from $od and if sal ation is gi en #y $od, there is no need of any effort from your side& *n such case, you "ant to pass the e)amination "ithout "riting it& 2ord 3attatreya, "ho preached the spiritual %no"ledge in the earlier #irths, too% the form of +rishna for the sa%e of the test& 8our o"n class teacher #ecomes the in igilator in the e)amination& 2ord 3attatreya is the =reator (Brahma!, Ruler (6ishnu! and 3estroyer (4hi a! of this creation& *n the $ita, 2ord +rishna says that He is the creator ( Visrujami punahpunah!, ruler to esta#lish /ustice (Dharma Samsthapanaarthaya! and destroyer (Kaalosmi Lokakshayakrut! of this creation indicating that He is the incarnation of 2ord 3attatreya& 3ue to this ne" and real dimension of the Bhaga atam e)posing the last #irth of the sages getting the fruit of 0i rutti through practical implementation of their spiritual %no"ledge, the Bhaga atam "as recommended as the only scripture to #e heard in the last days of %ing .ari%shit& *t is also told that the Bhaga atam is a test of the spiritual %no"ledge (Vidyavataam Bhagavate arikshaa!&
