Exercise 1 Direct Control of Single-Acting Cylinder

Problem Description: after pressing the push-button, a single-acting cylinder extends its rod and return to its original position after releasing the button.

Solution: (Draw its equivalent Pneumatic diagram then from your diagram connect it in the trainer).

Exercise 2 Direct control of Double-Acting Cylinder

Problem description: Using a 5/2 way valve, the rod of a double-acting cylinder extends when the push-button is pushed and will back to its original position when released.

Solution: (Draw the equivalent pneumatic diagram and connect it to the trainer)

Exercise 3 Sorting Objects

Problem description: using a light sensor, sort the objects according to its height.

Solution: (draw the equivalent pneumatic and design the sensor part using laser, LDR and transistor as switch to the solenoid valve)

Exercise 4 Transferring objects

Problem description: using a cylinder, an object must be transferred from one place to the container. When the button is pressed, the cylinder will be activated and push the object. When the object is pushed, it will go to its container.

Solution: (Draw a pneumatics diagram and connect it to the board)

The figure shows the whole operation (may vary to the available component).

Exercise 5 Gravity Feed Blocks

Problem Description: wood blocks are to be pushed along from the gravity to a clamping device. By pressing a pushbutton switch, the clamper pushes one of the wood block to another place.

Solution:

This figure describes the operation.

Exercise 6 Double-Acting Cylinder Controlled Door

Problem Description: Using a LDR as sensor, control a door by a double acting cylinder and a solenoid valve. It is only unidirectional.

Solution: (Make an electronic sensor circuit that determines when there is a person coming and open the door, and then it closes when the person already passed the door.)

Exercise 7 Transferring Station

Problem Description: Using two cylinders, the first cylinder pushes the blocks from the first container to the second container.

Solution: (make a pneumatic diagram on displacement-step and pneumatic control of the problem)

This figure is the sketch of the problem

Exercise 8 Multi-track gravity feed blocks

Problem Description: Pushing more blocks from the feeder to another station.

Solution: (design and give the pneumatic diagram of the problem)

The sketch of the output

Exercise 9 Pneumatic Elevator

Problem Description: Using a cylinder, make a simple elevator application that when the button is push, a certain block goes up.

Solution: (Make a equivalent pneumatic diagram and connect it to the trainer)

Exercise 10 Clamper

Problem Description: By pressing the pushbutton, the cylinder extends the rod and holds an object.

Solution: (make an equivalent diagram and connect to the trainer)
