SESSION REPORT APRIL 2014 Session met on Tuesday, April 15 at the offices of LOVE Inc. Pastor Steve led by reading from I Timothy 1:3-11 and excerpts from John Stotts, Guard the Truth. Session spent time in discussion on balancing our perspective, attitudes and actions regarding Law & Grace. Session reviewed and approved minutes from past meetings. Time was spent reviewing plans and details for the Easter Sunday service. The elders greatly appreciate the work the deacons did this year to organize the breakfast. Pastor Steve opened a time of prayer in which others joined to pray for many aspects of the coming Good Friday and Easter Sunday services. Session committee reports were submitted and discussed. - Education: upcoming summer educational small group curriculum and teachers were reviewed. Elder Dave VanDyke led a season of prayer for the educational plans and ministry of Cedar church. - Finance: the committee has noted that expenses are running at or under budget currently. Income is currently running behind budget with significant giving occurred the week of Palm Sunday. The Session appreciates the congregations financial support of the ministry of the gospel at Cedar and would like to challenge members to assist in closing the gap in giving. - Missions, Outreach and Technology reports to be reviewed at next months meeting. - Worship: recently time was spent reviewing a six month preaching calendar and coordinating related worship components and music. Time was given to shepherding matters for the congregation and prayer for the congregation. The Session meeting was adjourned at 9:55 p.m., followed by closing prayer with all session members participating, closing prayer by Pastor Steve Igo. Respectfully Submitted Elder Craig Baker, Assistant to the clerk of session
