The wind loads are calculated according to Cdigo Nacional de Electricidad, with a
maximum wind velocity of 130 km/h.

Seismic Loads
SEISMIC FORCES:
See the seismic loads in Annex #1, Sheet Earthquake Loads.
The Seismic Loads are calculated according to Norma Tcnica de Edificacin

Load Combinations
The following were the combinations considered
(see Annex #1 Sheets Sketch of Load Combination).
LOAD COMBINATION #1:
Operation Load + Wind in X direction

/var/www/apps/conversion/tmp/scratch_4/225917184.doc

21-20-33-E Rev. A
DISCONNECTING SWITCH FOUNDATIONS S

LOAD COMBINATION #2:

Operation Load + Wind in Z direction.
LOAD COMBINATION #3:
Short Circuit Load + Earthquake in X direction.
LOAD COMBINATION #4:
Short Circuit Load + Earthquake in Z direction.
The load combination #1 is the most severe condition, and we shown only this
calculation. The procedure for others loads is similar.
4.05

Footing Design
The procedures to the footing design as shown in Annex #2, and include the
following:
CHECK THE STABILITY CONDITIONS:
To overturning (the weight soil is considered as stability force).
To sliding (the weight soil is considered as stability force).
CHECK THE SOIL CONDITIONS:
Soil Bearing pressure at base footings by uni -axial loading
Soil Bearing pressure at base footings by biaxial loading
STRESS CHECK:
Flexion Design Beam action (at d from support face)
Flexion Design.
Shear design in One - Way action
In X direction
In Z direction:
Shear design in Two - Way action (at d/2 from support face)
FORCE TRANSFER AT INTERFACE OF COLUMN AND FOOTING

4.06

Pedestal Design
The procedures to the pedestal design as shown in Annex #2, and include the
following:
CHECK BY FLEXION ACTION.
