Plan A

Background/Insights
Background:
In the early 1900s the United States was in a very precarious situation. It had just gone
through the last half century with massive growth in industry. This was primarily achieved
through the programs of the epu!lican "arty following the teachings of #le$ander %amilton
which from the 1&'0s on had !een transforming the nation from a (ree)*ar+et State to a
,apitalistic State. ,apitalism defined as an economic strategy of supporting those who were in
possession of ,apital. This support included protectionist legislation such as tariffs- trade .uotas-
copyrights- patents- recognition of property- and anti)la!or union laws. There was also support in
/oning laws- su!sidi/ing the industry with ta$ !rea+s and government contracts0remem!er a
good portion of these companies gained a major !oost from war profits of the ,ivil 1ar and the
su!se.uent econstruction "eriod. ,apitalists were further supported !y creating a unified
currency in the form of green !ac+s and eventual formation of a national !an+ in 1912 in the
form of the (ederal eserve System. #merica started its own form of coloni/ing with the
ta+eover of "uerto ico- The "hilippines- and ,u!a right around the turn of the century creating
a low grade form of *ercantilism which is the use of overseas possessions to !oost the economy.
There was an emphasis on ending slavery and $enopho!ia0reasons proposed3 Slavery is a sap
of resources and not a consumer mar+et4 you need to maintain a consumer mar+et to maintain the
value of your assets. #s far as $enopho!ia- foreigners are an easy target to !lame- also with
5foreign pro!lems there is that old a$iom of !irds of a feather floc+ together translating to
indigenous support of indigenous institutions and mar+ets which is thrived on !y ,apitalism.
Side notes:
,apitalism mimics the (ree)*ar+et System in that there is private ownership.
,apitalists will scream for protectionism while at the same time demand that other
nations open their !orders for their company sometimes using violence to force
their way into foreign mar+ets0is there any wonder that the military under
,ommodore "erry opened 6apan.
# simulation of a (ree)*ar+et does e$ist only for those on top.
(ree)*ar+et to a ,apitalist means that they are free to do whatever they want and
have the government to protect them from others- namely foreign companies
trying to do it to them.
,apitalism again mimics the (ree)*ar+et System in that there is a free)mar+et !ut
on a level !eyond the grasp of the majority- it is the mar+et of commodities which
decides the prices which are imposed on the majority. This is why that even
though #merica is producing more fuel and supply is higher- the price remains
high and increasing0not !ecause of consumer demand in this country !ut
!ecause on the industrial glo!al level demand. This is why we are e$porting more
oil than we are importing instead of !uilding up reserves and helping the average
consumer stay afloat.
,apitalism thrives on consistency. It ta+es vast amount of resources to ma+e the
changes needed in a (ree)*ar+et System. Single !iggest reason it ta+es us so long
to recover from economic downturns is that the effort is placed on manipulating
the economy so that those on top remain on top instead of letting the economy
reset itself naturally which would mean those on top might !e replaced.
*ight add that though the 57$perts claim that this recession we have just gone
through was due to the housing mar+et 8accounting for appro$imately 1)9: of the
;ross <omestic "roduct-= I seem to remem!er that right !efore people started
having pro!lems with ma+ing mortgage payments that there was a sharp increase
in oil prices and utilities throughout the nation had increased as much as '00: in
a lot of places resulting in layoffs- decreased hours- decreased sales as persons
disposa!le income was greatly drained to cover oil and utility prices with scarcely
a word mentioned that the increases in oil and utilities might have contri!uted to
the pro!lem. In >ancaster ,ounty- "# gasoline prices went from just under ?9.00
to almost ?@.00 a gallon in a period of a couple of months while our summertime
utility !ill went from ?@0.00 a month to over ?190 a month even with us cutting
!ac+ on usage.
>oyalty and unity are very important to a ,apitalist as long as it is in support of
what is of the utmost interests to the ,apitalist. #ny form of loyalty or unity
outside the realm of the interests of the ,apitalist is viewed as a threat to the
,apitalist0not much of a difference from the feudal lords which ruled the world
since the time of Sumer. This goes hand in hand with the Aenopho!ia and
Bationalism aspects of ,apitalism. This also e$plains the massive e$pense- effort-
and sending persons to death to defeat ,ommunism0nothing scares a feudal lord
or a ,apitalists- or a dictator more than people wor+ing together- sharing with one
another- helping one another- and loo+ing out for one another for a common goal
other than that of the ,apitalists. This is also a validation of their understanding
of what ,ommunism is. If it was just total nonsense- if it was repugnant to people-
if it was everything that the ,apitalists claim it was then the !est response would
!e to ignore it- no one would ta+e it serious or to allow it to happen so people
would see that it was nonsense0instead- out of all the systems or ideas on the
face of the earth ,ommunism and #narchy- the government system of
,ommunism !eing that it is a classless society where no one is the !oss- it is the
most attac+ed and slandered with massive military violence and propaganda0not
even fascism can claim that4 !y the way fascism and dictators are often supported
!y ,apitalists.
Situation Analysis:
To the average person it seemed li+e a wonder. To those that did not +now or understood
the whole story- individuals li+e Cander!ilt- oc+efeller- ,arnegie- *organ all !ecame that of
legend and needed to !e idoli/ed as material wealth !ecomes consuming. *any !ecame highly
dependent on industry for jo!s. Since the economy had !asically degraded to that of a feudalistic
system people moved their dependency and loyalty from one another to their feudal lord0the
one who signs the chec+4 separating them leaving them more vulnera!le.
To those who do understand- there isnt much that they can do- they are dependent on the
,apitalists for jo!s. *any of the ,apitalists have massive egos and will not tolerate any sign of
disrespect from their employees which can include .uestioning or even loo+ing at them the
wrong way. Smaller !usinesses are wiped out not just !ecause they cant compete !ut !ecause of
severely unfair advantages the ,apitalists have.
#n 7$ample of this is that oc+efeller would undersell his local competitors so !ad that
he was actually ta+ing a severe loss which was o+ay for oc+efeller !ecause he all the other
stations churning profits for him and covering the costs. 1hen the local- small competitor failed-
oc+efeller would then raise the prices to the normal- profita!le level. Dthers would manipulate
the la!or of their competitors- disrupt logistics of their competitors- whatever would cause their
competitors pro!lems0they had the assets- the control- and the politicians in their poc+ets to
created legislation which aided them.
There were no laws that protected la!or or the environment. This was a world of pure
,apitalism. *ost ,apitalists tended to em!race the idea of Social <arwinism 8a twisted idea of
<arwins theories and economist- Thomas . *althus theories on populations0neither man
seems to have no support of what their ideas were twisted into.= ,apitalists were viewed as a
necessity !ecause they supplied the jo!s. In the reverse- ,apitalists tend to !elieve that they were
;ods gift to the world and people owe their loyalty and e$istence to them. They tend to !e very
egotistical and self centered. They fail to see that even though they had the idea- that it had !een
the la!ors and talent of many that !rought it to fruition. They tend to !elieve that communities
owe them much and not that it was what the community had to offer was the !iggest reasons
their idea was a!le to !lossom along with their hard wor+.
Players:
epu!licans who are the descendents of those who supported #le$ander %amiltons
economic vision which was nothing really more than what every no!ility on the face of the earth
was doing. It was a perceived necessity to stay up with the rest of the world. (irst act they did
was to impose tariffs on Eritish Steel which the South was !uying instead of Borthern Steel
!ecause Eritish Steel was cheaper and of higher .uality than the Borths. Their idea was to
support and aid #mericas Steel Industry. #!raham >incoln even mentions this in his first
Inaugural #ddress3
The power confided to me will be used to hold, occupy, and possess the
property and places belonging to the Government and to collect the duties and
imposts; but beyond what may be necessary for these objects, there will be no
invasion, no using of force against or among the people anywhere.
This was a major !one of contention starting the ,ivil 1ar. epu!licans supported the idea of
,apitalism under the #merican *odel or School which was the ideas of %amilton. To show their
em!racement of %amiltons ideas they started putting %amiltons li+eness on the money
following their rise to power in the 1&'0s and especially with the election of >incoln. I dont
!elieve that they had any devious intent4 I !elieve that they were doing what they !elieved was
!est for the nation. They !elieved that it was the jo! of the government to foster the economy. Df
course !y doing this they had effectively moved the nation from a (ree)*ar+et state. Ey !ac+ing
various ,apitalists and protecting the interests of those ,apitalists and their respective industries-
they had created a "lanned 7conomy which is the very !asis of Stalinists and (ascists. Should
note that during the rise of the epu!lican "arty there was a major development in Bationalism
including the adoption of pledge of allegiance and national anthem.
*ajor idea flaw of the epu!lican "arty is that they !elieve that if you give aid to people-
the people !ecome dependent on you. They !elieve that the only way people !ecome lean mean
fighting machines is if they have to do it themselves Sad fact is that very few epu!lican
>eaders ever had to do it themselves. %owever- they dont !elieve that this is true with
!usinesses which would occur under the (ree)*ar+et System and instead !a!y and coddle
!usinesses with protectionism- aid- contracts- and su!sidies again creating a planned economy
instead of letting it develop naturally under a (ree)*ar+et System. ,apitalists instead of growing
and developing the a!ility to adapt to the demands of the consumer need the protection and
assistance from the government.
Side Bote3 There is no valid reason why a (ree)*ar+et System couldnt thrive under
,ommunism. There is no reason why millionaires- +a//illionaires- there is a!solutely no reason
why someone cant retain the fruits of their la!or and !e rewarded with coming up with
something that truly helps others. Dnly real economic difference !etween ,ommunism and
,apitalism is that in ,ommunism people are the emphasis with the reali/ation that we are all in
this together and that people are a!le to achieve what they do !ecause of the help of others doing
their parts- that through the prosperity of the community each individual prospers and that we
have each others !ac+. ,apitalism is all a!out me4 wealth is measured in accumulation of things
and position- not in the development and growth of the person. It more an idea of perspective3
,ommunism is that we all ma+e this possi!le- ,apitalism is that it is just me that made this
possi!le and everyone else owes me. Socially the difference is in ,ommunism- no one is more
important than another- we are all in this together- and under ,apitalism I am !etter than you.
<emocrats !elieve that the answer is a !ig government which the !iggest pro!lem is that
it creates a situation where people !ecome more and more dependent on the government to solve
their pro!lems and thin+ for them. #t the same time it creates a system where the government
!ecomes !igger and full of !ureaucrats armed with statisticians who are further removed from
what is really going on meaning that people are dependent on individuals to thin+ for them and
solve their pro!lems who have little to no idea of what is really going on with the people. Should
mention that when <emocratic "resident %arry S Truman had allowed epu!licans such as
*c,arthy through misinformation and misleading the people on purpose !ully Truman into
signing 7$ecutive Drder 9&2'- he had !asically said that the <emocrats were pretty much owned
!y the same powers that owned the epu!licans.
Results:
1ith a com!ination of e$planation and justification of the e$ploitation with Social
<arwinism- ;reed not for money !ut for power and to !e on top !y ,apitalists such as
Cander!ilt- oc+efeller- ,arnegie- *organ- #rmour- and others- Stac+ing of the dec+ in their
favor with !uying politicians- ;o!!ling up of control of resources- <eveloping an iconic li+e
status for themselves from the general pu!lic- and heavy handed tactics they developed
monopolies or trusts. The average #merican has !ecome3
D!edient
<ependent on the ,apitalist- if they tried to compete with the ,apitalists chances
are they would !e violently crushed or ruined through unfair trade practices
<ivided with self interests and preservation
<eveloped the idea that money was the answer to all
7asily controlled !y the local capitalists 8900 years earlier- they would !e feudal
lords.=
"overty stric+en with no rights to stand up for themselves0la!or leaders were
often prosecuted under the ,onspiracy <octrine of the United States- many la!or
supporters were openly murdered with no repercussions on the perpetrators.
Theodore oosevelt reali/es that the United States is ripe for revolution. #verage
#mericans are !ecoming more and more threatening in response to the greed and oppression of
the ,apitalists. %e immediately starts trying to calm the situation down with enforcement of
legislation such as the Sherman #ntitrust #ct of 1&90 created !y Senator Sherman who also saw
the pro!lems arising. I !elieve that he greatly reduced the possi!ilities of the powder +eg going
off and !ecause he stood up for the common man- he was attac+ed !y the rich even though
Theodore had actually saved the asses of the rich !y reeling them in a hair.
Execution of Plan and Reasons
(irst part- develop local communities and support systems
Start growing food !oth individually and through communal gardens
<evelop craftsmanship
<evelop arts
<evelop communal support system for each other0this will !e according to local
needs and must !e developed !y those involved !ecause they +now what their
communal pro!lems are.
eali/e that people and connections are the answers not things and money0
educate- educate- educate.
<evelop local social aid system
<evelop local first response and aid stations
Support local economy and ignore large !usinesses- help those who are
unemployed start their own !usinesses- help employees to start !uying shares in
their own companies- if 6ohn Shnatter doesnt !elieve that his employees are
worth a real than+ you- may!e they can !uy the company from under him and
eliminate the influence of that waste of a human !eing- !y the way- Shnatter is
one of those who !elieve that he deserves it all and that people need to do things
themselves when in actuality- he has received a hell of a lot of support and help
from others including two wealthy parents0if it stays in the local community-
there is no need for it to !e tric+led down.
This and other things that will !e thought of !y others are crucial for the second part of
this plan.
Second- Support and do all you can to get majority of control to the epu!lican "arty and
support all of their programs.
epu!licans want to help their rich masters
They want to undo all that hampers the ,apitalists from doing what they want
They desire to eliminate all la!or laws- unions- minimum wages- environmental
laws- e.ual rights as this all costs !usinesses a lot and hinders their growth
potential
They will claim that it is a (ree)*ar+et !ut it is a planned economy which is
stac+ed in the favor of e$isting ,apitalists
It is !elieved that as the average #merican approaches the situation of the late 1&00s and
early 1900s we will start to rise in revolutionary fervor again. This time there will !e local
support systems in the development of communities to help people wage the war for change. I
!elieve that if the epu!licans get their way with their version of #usterity *easures which I
!elieve a lot of their actions lately have !een to test the via!ility of this #usterity in #merica it
will cause the greatest rise in a desire for change. 1hen wor+ers are oppressed and ro!!ed- they
will wa+e up in the thousands and get rid of !oth parties. The alternative is that the epu!licans
plan will wor+ and the economy fully recovers. *y !et is that it will piss people off enough to
finally ta+e action- especially- if they +now that someone has their !ac+s in the form of the
,ommunity <evelopment outlined a!ove.
