Around Campus
So you want to know what all is going on around
campus. Where do you look? Well there are several
choices; the easiest would be to look down. That’s right
look down. Here at U of L most events are advertised
by chalking.
You can also check out bulletin boards posted in
various buildings. However there is limited space in
these areas so you might not catch all of the information.
If you want to know about stuff going on here at
Speed check out the Speed News! You can also go
online to speedcouncil.org and check out that calendar.
While you are online check out Louisville.edu. The
main page has important events listed. You can also
find a full calendar on louisville.edu.
Here is a list of events and dates that you might want
to keep in mind:

Another major event taking place this Fall is a
visit by inspectors from the Accreditation Board
for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
ABET reaccredits all engineering degrees every
few years, and this semester they will be taking a
hard look at Speed's programs and ascertaining
whether they are still worthy of being accredited.
They will also be talking to students about vari-
ous aspects of the Speed education. This visit is
scheduled to take place late in the semester, and
more information will reach you through your
professors, administration, and SSSC before then.
Finally, the many events that SSSC puts on in the
Fall will still be taking place. You can look for-
ward to a Fall Festival, Study Jams, Cheap
Lunches, picnics, etc. as the semester progresses.
