IHOP-LI is a growing regional mission base; a furnace of night and day worship and
prayer saturating the metropolitan region with blessing, life and love in agreement with
the heart and purposes of our ather, !od, "#-$-%&' until the Lord (esus )hrist returns*
+e are intercessory missionaries who willingly pour out our lives as a love offering to
(esus and humanity through worship, intercession and deeds of ,ustice-mercy in the
power of His Love*
+e come together freely from many streams as .friends of the /ridegroom0 to worship
in spirit and truth and to serve the corporate )hurch on Long Island-12) as she grows in
her birthright as a lovesic3, worshiping, intercessor fully e4uipped to partner in intimate
agreement with !od in love, prayer and power as a triumphant /ride*
+e carry our families, local churches and communities before the 5hrone of !race with
the goal of increasing our corporate sphere of influence in love, prayer and power until
the region has been saturated with His Presence through night and day worship and
intercession* 67ee Lu3e 189
Practically spea3ing, this means that we are operating simultaneously in two arenas:
1* ;s a regional mission base that operates "#-$ in worship, prayer,
e4uipping and service
"* ;s a resource for the local churches, campuses, para-church ministries,
etc* to foster a lifestyle of worship-filled prayer in their communities and
build .furnaces0 of prayer within their own .house0
5ogether, in love that is e<pressed through worship, prayer and deeds of ,ustice-mercy,
we collectively call Long Island-12) into Life in (esus )hrist*

+e are not recreating the 5abernacle of =avid, but we love the spirit behind it*
=avidFs model was brilliantly inspired and it reveals a profound understanding of
!odFs heart for relationship* 5he 5abernacle, in its open simplicity, pointed
prophetically to faith in the provision of the coming Aessiah* It communicated a
foundational principle; it is !odFs pleasure and desire to be in relationship with
humanity and we will find our highest pleasure in en,oying open relationship with
Him*
=avid understood this, en,oyed it and modeled it* He wal3ed in the confidence of
the generous, relational, merciful nature of !od* 5herefore, =avidFs 5abernacle
had a different tone to it than the 5abernacle Aoses had built* It was a vibrant
atmosphere where dancing and singing and creative musical e<pressions were
released freely*

=avid lived this in reality and led the way in pouring out his affections upon !od*
/ecause of the environment he cultivated 6revealed by the Lord prophetically9 he
entered into a whirlwind of prophetic revelation himself* +ith his heart focused
on en,oying !od, he modeled a template for relationship that was an entirely new
encounter for Israel i*e*, there was nothing in between the ;r3 of His Presence
and the people e<cept worship and intercession* It is noteworthy however, that
=avid never halted the worship being offered in AosesF 5abernacle* 61)hron
1&:%G9 5here was an honor and understanding in his heart for their present reality
and a need for propitiation while reaching forward toward full redemption*
Li3e the 5abernacle of =avid, IHOP-LI desires to facilitate an accessible
environment conducive to loving relationship and honor for what !od has already
established; a place where the 7pirit of the Lord is enthroned upon our 3isses of
worship and people can freely enter into an atmosphere where Love is offered and
honored* Hing =avid was a man of .one thing0 6Psalm "$:#9*

type of worship is used in sustaining long periods of worship - for
instance, the International House of Prayer in Hansas )ity has used this
method of worship to sustain a prayer meeting since 7eptember 1GGG*
; common feature of harp and bowl is antiphonal singers, who use the

instruments that accompany the singers* In Harp and /owl, the ma,or
focus is not the singers or the musicians, but the One being worshiped in
such a setting* Harp and /owl is not a new device, but has been used for
thousands of years in hundreds of different settings throughout (udaism
