Horton, NP. "50 Genuinely Memorable Movie Death Scenes." Den of Geek. N.p., 22 Feb. 2013.
Web. 07 Apr. 2014.
Summary
This is a website that has 50 of the most memorable and crazy deaths in horror films. It is
not your usual list of movie deaths. The few minute video segments are from movies that date
back to the 80s to now. They show people being melted by acid or being thrown into a wood
chipper. The deaths are taken from movies that are well-known and some that arent so well
known. With each video there are a few sentences that talk about what was just watched in each
video and says something about the maker of the film.
Reflection
This will be a good source because it is a visual aid that I can use for my final project. It
talks about the makers and gives a wide range of types of deaths from horror films. Having a
visual aid like this with so many types of deaths will make it easier for me to put my thoughts
down on paper. The videos will be good to add to my presentation.

Awesome Death Scenes From Awful Horror Movies Comments. N.p., 20 Dec. 2012.
Web. 20 Apr. 2014.
Summary
This is a website that has death scenes from horror movies in the form of short segments
of the film. With each clip, they have a little description of what is being seen in the video. It
explains the significance in each death and why it was important to the movie and the genre. The
short paragraphs talk about the maker of the movie and why he or she would choose the deaths
they chose to use.
Reflection
I would like to use just a few of the clips for my presentation. I can use some of the
paragraphs that follow the clip as sources for the paper. It is similar to the other source I have
with clips of deaths in movies but this is strictly horror films.

"Rules for Surviving a Horror Movie." Rules for Surviving a Horror Movie. N.p., n.d. Web. 07
Apr. 2014.
Summary
This is a collection of rules to survive a horror movie. It is quite a list too. Most of the
rules are for humor and entertainment. At the end it even has a few rules for the monster in the
film. This isnt so much for a scholarly source but more for entertain.
Reflection
This website will be used more towards my presentation than my paper. I will more than
likely add some of this rules to my Weebly presentation. This will help with making my
presentation not as boring.

Differences In The Association Between Sexual Activity And Survival." Sex Roles
62.11/12 (2010): 762-773. Academic Search Complete. Web. 18 Feb. 2014.
Summary
To show how much female characters are surrounded by gruesome violence than male
characters which the killer just kills the males off quickly without torturing much. Also that how
the females have to be perfect and they cant do anything wrong in order to survive throughout
the whole movie. These Slasher films have seen multiple interest of audiences from different
generations throughout the years they have been on the big screen. Female characters in the
Slasher films experience the most graphic and eroticized violence towards them than the male
characters in these films. Women who do not engage in sexual behaviors are most likely to
survive the whole movie than those who do engage in these behaviors.
Reflection
This is article discusses gender and survival which is the main topic of my paper. It
discusses a little about how characters tend to die in most slasher films. This goes along with my
topic so I should be able to get some more information from it. This is something I am very
interested in.

Woodcock, Scott. "Horror Films And The Argument From Reactive Attitudes." Ethical Theory
& Moral Practice 16.2 (2013): 309-324. Academic Search Complete. Web. 19 Feb. 2014.

Summary
This article talks mainly about how slasher films are not morally right. They do not help
you learn because they are made to confuse the viewer. It is a breakdown of how a slasher film is
develop and what writers and producers want to happen while viewing the film. It discusses The
Argument of Reactive Attitudes or ARA as referred to in this article. This is how slasher films do
not correctly depict real life in the way characters act towards certain situations. It is all just for
entertainment of the viewer. These reactions encourage corruption of the moral, well-functioning
human psychology. Horror film lovers go to see this genre because they want the thrill and
excitement of the intensity of the films.
Reflection
This article will help me because it discusses why movie goers go to see horror films. I
feel like I could tie this in with my topic quite easily. It discusses the morals behind how things
happen in these films.

25 Characters Who Will NOT Survive A Horror Film. Cracked. n.p. n.d. Web. 19 Feb. 2014
Summary
This article breaks everything down in a humorous way of the order people die in a
horror film. It gives you a list of 25 characters who will not make it to the end of a horror movie.
It pokes fun of the characters and how dumb they actually are. With each character the publisher
gave a little bit of background to why each character dies and how dumb they were to start off
with. The article talks about the over sexual girl, to the nerd, to the guy who knows what is
happening but dies before he can tell anybody.
Reflection
This article is my topic exactly and this will be where I go to for most of my information.
It gives you the order that is basically followed in every horror movie. Even if it isnt the exact
order it still tells you all the potential victims in a horror movie. This will be a very helpful
source for my paper.
