THE EVENT

Hiking Trip to Broga Hills was organized on 16 th of February 2014. The event was organized
with the hopes of promoting the Islamic Students Society and also to fulfill the initiative of
cleaning Broga Hills. A total of 42 people participated in the hike, making the event a success.
The hike to Broga Hills commenced at dawn. Before initiating the hike to the peak of Broga, the
students were divided into groups. Each group was assigned a group leader. The Muslim
students prayed the dawn prayer and then the hike to the top instigated. During the Hike
students volunteered to pick trash along the way, thus cleaning the environment around Broga
Hills. After enjoying the breathtaking views from the peak, the students began to descent and by

noon all the students gathered at the assembly point and boarded the bus. After returning to the
campus, everyone was served lunch. The lunch was free for all the staff in the university
including the guards, BGO staff and the cleaning staff.

Attendees
The event had managed to attract 40+ participants.

Sources of Funding and Total Expenses

The sources of funding for the hiking trip came solely from the tickets sold. Each ticket was
worth RM20 per person and a total of 45 tickets were sold, amounting to RM900, Figure 1.1
shows different areas of expenses involved in organizing the event.

Future Plan
The Response was very good by the participants. We Islamic Students Society Nilai
University (ISSNU) will organize more events like these every semester and we promise to
keep the trend going in the years to come. Hopefully with constant support from the DSA, we
will be able to achieve this next semester and in the years to come.
