The consistency and the ethnic composition of foreign
population in MdV did not deeply change in proportions
during the last decade (fig. 1)
Though the presence of some components is perceived by
residents much weighty than what the statistical data
would have us understand (subjects coming from former
Yugoslavia 6,22%)

Referring to the above proposed theoretic pattern, a relational hypothesis has
been empirically controlled as regards the adult foreign population in Mazara del
Vallo :
Immigrants' cultural models referable to the
cultural context of origin have an erosive effect on
civil and professional relations since they influence
the structure and the form of intersubjective
relations

of ritual charity and economic support inside the
immigrants community )

! The Public dimension
of daily life is
considered an outsider
habit in respect to daily
relational context. That
relational circles in the
public field of daily life
neither weights nor
shapes the expectations
of foreign immigrants,
who address to the
communitys internal.
In the private circle it could be noted that it collects
most of the symbolic coordinates of sociality as regards the
wide context of relations. That reading is stimulated and
formed by the space projection of neighborhood and
contiguity translated in a series of daily interactions that
are normal for the subjects who constantly live those
situations.

UN PROSPETTO RIASSUNTIVO
! Rapporto conflittuale fra la dimensione istituzionale e la
popolazione straniera del campione a prescindere dal livello
di scala (amministrazione comunale e statuale)
! Il livello di istruzione mostra una proporzionalit inversa
rispetto al livello di percezione della marginalit
! Gli immigrati residenti da pi tempo sul territorio
avvertono in misura minore lesclusione rispetto al contesto
cittadino rimandando ad una dimensione reticolare pi
efficiente della vita quotidiana
! Rispetto al pi generale contesto urbano si segnala una
sostanziale zona grigia rispetto allintegrazione nel
contesto urbano da parte del campione

! Analizzare lIdentit sociale quale motore delle dinamiche
di mutamento culturale e volano di nuove configurazioni di
relazione tra parti sociali differenziate.

! Indagare sui modelli di interazione culturalmente
orientati che regolano linsieme delle relazioni messe in
atto dalle diverse identit sociali che sussistono in un
