Found How: Through Google

Why Select This Image? Adolf Hitler was selected as an image
because he is an influential person, good and bad.

What Does This Image State About Power? This image states
that the president of a country has power. Also, this image
shows that power can be used through negative actions.

Why Do You State So? This is so because Hitler did terrible
things, and everyone knows who he is and how powerful he was.

How Does This Image Fit With The Others In Your Collection (if
at all)? Adolf Hitler was an influential and powerful man.

Image #8 Paradigm
Piece- It is a black and white photo of Adolf Hitler giving the Nazi
salute at a rally in 1939. The photo was originaly from Getty
Images, but it was found at bbc.co.uk. The main point of the
photo is to show Hitlers power through the salute he gives to
others.

Agent- The piece was found on BBCs website. BBC is a British
news channel which is popular here in the US as well as the UK.
BBC can be contacted on their website through a variety of ways.

Receiver- The primary audience of the photo is mostly
everyone, for everyone knows the face of Hitler due to the awful
part of history he caused. I am part of the intended audience
because I learned about Hitler and the Holocaust in middle
school. I believe that Hitler was a terribly sick man that hurt and
killed many innocent people. He convinced and mislead many
people to kill and hurt as well. Hitlers power to speak and
mislead others led him to what he considered many victories.
The photo, through my eyes, shows a sick and powerful man.

Agenda- The bias presented in the piece is one of a Nazi stand
point. In the photo, you see not only Hitler but other Nazis
saluting. If one did not know the history behind the Nazis, one
would believe this was a normal practice of the Germans at that
time.

Demands- The photo does not urge anything.

Inquiries- Beyond what is shown in the photo, I would like to see
an image of the Jews next to this photo to show the aftermath of
what happened because of the many rallies promoted by the
Nazis. The source of this photo is very reliable because it is a
popular and well-known news channel. The picture itself is not
trying to sway the viewer with manipulation, but what was going
on in the picture encompassed much manipulation.

Gains- From the photo, I gained more hate towards Hitler and
what he did to innocent people. The photo enhanced my life by
reminding me to always remember that the Holocaust was a
terrible time in history, and history must not repeat itself.

Motivators- The person who tool the photo at the time was
trying to display it to the media. This project prompted finding it
for myself. For others, they may have found it through school or
the news.
Image #8 Morph
Original Genre: The photograph of Hitler doing the Nazi salute at
the rally.

Revised Genre: The collage of photos from the Holocaust.

Description of New Genre/New Piece: The new picture is a
collage of many photos. These photos show the aftermath of
the plan that Hitler and his Nazis devised.

Explanation of New Genre Choice/New Piece: These images
were chosen to reperesent the Holocaust through the view of
the Jews. These images represent the hell that they went
through. Many died and many barely survived.

Explanation of How New Genre/Piece Differs from Original: The
new piece differs from the original because it is two separate
times and two separate perceptions. The first image is of the
late 1930s, and the second image is of the mid to late 1940s.
The first image is in a Nazi perception, but the second image is
in the perception of the Jews and many other innocent victims.

Message Changes? Yes or No? How so?: Yes, there was a
message change. In the first photo, there are no feelings of
depression and sickness as there are in the second. The first
photo is one which encompasses a time to turn around the
German economy where spirits were high and full of hope. The
second image shows depression and a time of no hope. Family
and friends were dead, people were sick, and many had no place
to go.

New Genre/Piece Caption (if needed): The aftermath of
Germanys economic turn around plan

Why Select This Image? This image was selected because
Superman is known by everyone and well respected by children
for saving the world.

What Does This Image State About Power? This image states
that Superman is powerful due to his physical strength. Also,
Superman is a role model to many young children.

Why Do You State So? Superman and what he does influence
those children that look up to him, so he is powerful.

How Does This Image Fit With The Others In Your Collection (if
at all)? This image fits with all the others because it shows a
couple aspects of power, strength and a hero. The hero has
power because children admire him or her.

Image #9 Trace
Text- It is a picture of Superman. It is unique because of the vivid
color and where he is in the sky. It is special because it was one
of the first pictures of Superman drawn. The picture is of
Superman flying in the sky.

Reader- The intended audience of this photo is anyone who is
interested in comics or superheroes. Yes, I am part of this
intended audience because I like superman. The artist of this
picture shares commonalities with many other comic book
artists, for he draws comics just as they do.

Author- The creators of the photo are Jerry Siegel and Joe
Shuster. Jerry and Joe are the two that came up with Superman.
They had many photos and stories of Superman published. The
first photo of Superman to be published was in Action Comics
#1, a popular comic book magazine in 1938.

Constraints- The authors constraints at the time were to create
a Superhero that did not offend the traditional people of the
1930s. The limitations of the viewer of this photo are their like
or dislike of Superheroes. The image does not have limitations
noticeable, for it was a creation of the imagination.

Exigence- The authors involvement in this photo was to produce
a comic book character in which Americans would love in the
1930s. He did just that, for Superman is still a well known and
admired comic book character.
Image #10 God
Image Title: God

Bibliographic Citation: God. Photograph. Gibrob. Web. 4 Jan.
2014.

Topic: The Power of God

Image Sub-Genre (chart, graphic, diagram, cartoon,
photograph, etc.): photograph

Mode (informative, persuasive, argumentative,
expressive/entertaining): entertaining

Found Where: Online: http://www.gibrob.com/god.htm

Found How: Through Google

Why Select This Image? This image was selected because God is
a prominent figure in many peoples lives.

What Does This Image State About Power? This image states
that power is used through God. God is all-powerful, all
knowing, etc.

Why Do You State So? This is so because many people base their
decisions off the Bible, Gods word.

How Does This Image Fit With The Others In Your Collection (if
at all)? God is all-powerful which is definitely an aspect of power.

Image #10 Trace
Text- It is a picture of God. A unique aspect of the picture is that
God has the world in his hands. It is also special that he is sitting
on a throne. The photo is about God sitting at the throne in
heaven with the whole world in his hands.

Reader- The intended audience of this photograph is everyone
and anyone. Yes, I am part of this audience because God is seen
in pictures and heard about everywhere. As a viewer of this
picture, I am not open to change because if one changes God, he
is no longer God. Although, if some of the small details on the
picture changed it would not alter the idea of God.

Author- The picture can be found at gibrob.com. The artist who
actually painted the picture was not provided by the website.

Constraints- The limitations that influence the artist of the
picture are the human mind on earth. A human can only see
certain colors and things. There are things that God can do and
see in which humans cannot. Also, the Bible talks of things in
heaven unimaginable to the human mind. The reader has the
same limitations, for both are human. These limitations are not
noticed because one does not think of things that are
unimaginable.

Exigence- The artists involvement in the photo is a human like
representation of God sitting at the throne.
