Assessment Through the discussion with the instructional coordinator, the students will be assessed on their
abilities to develop an interview plan, and describe proper interviewing procedures. Furthermore,
given an audio recording, the writers will be assessed on their ability to complete an accurate
transcription. The instructional coordinator will be provided with guidelines, rubrics, and audio
material necessary to assess the learners.

Written materials will be provided for the necessary assessments (e.g., changing words or phrases
not in AP style into the correct format, and determining appropriate word count).
Assessment Through the discussion with the instructional coordinator and prompted written responses, the
students will be assessed on their mastery of the concepts of AP style rules and application, how
to write different types of leads, the use of sufficient sources in a news article, and proper word
count for different article types. The instructional coordinator will be provided with guidelines,
rubrics, and written materials to assess the learners.

Module Three: Ethical and Unethical Behaviors in a Journalism Context
