Dear ADA-ES,

I am writing in apply for the Manufacturing Engineering internship recently posted in the career
portion of your website. My mechanical engineering studies and recent work experience in
natural gas production has made me a well-qualified candidate for this internship. My love for
engineering will keep me very motivated and passionate about my career.

Through my studies at the University of Idaho I have become proficient in 3-D designing
programs such as Auto-CAD and Solid Works. Working with a team, we redesigned and built a
1/8 dune buggy to compete in the Student Professional Development Conference. Every part
on the vehicle such as suspension, chassis and drivetrain components were modeled on the
computer before being fabricated. Our team placed 2
nd
overall this year and improvements are
being made to create an even more competitive design.

Over the past three summers I have been employed in the natural gas production Industry.
There I worked in teams of three to six members. Our responsibilities included everything from
installing crude oil treaters, constructing natural gas flares and installing high pressure safety
equipment on the oil sites.

Upon graduation the skill I will obtain through courses such as the University of Idaho Capstone
Design Program will be highly beneficial to your company. The Capstone Design course offers
students the skills to design products that meet a companys needs of an economical, ethical,
sustainable and safe design.

I have enclosed a copy of my rsum with this letter and would greatly enjoy the opportunity
for an interview with ADA-Environmental Solutions. I look forward to your reply and am
available for contact at any time. I thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
Levi Vogel

Micro-Baja Design Project: Collaborated with multiple teams of three to six students in a
competition 1/8 scale vehicle design project. Analyzed previous teams vehicles to improve
design and competition results. Every part on vehicle was 3-D modeled on computer programs
to improve overall performance.
Served on the chassis redesign team. Collaborated with multiple teams to create a new and
improved vehicle chassis that worked well with the other teams component designs.

Worked efficiently to utilize a limited project budget and time frame.
