2asten te bolt wit te plastic win& nut. Be care(ul not to dama&e te tread o( te bolt by
o*er/ti&tenin&. Te plastic win& nut may need to be loosened to ad3ust te coil.

ti&t. $emember not to o*er ti&ten.
Attac te upper sa(t assembly to te middle sa(t by pusin& te sprin& loaded pin in te
upper sa(t assembly and slide it into te middle sa(t until te pin reaces te ad3ustment
ole. Ti&ten te camloc1 by rotatin& it cloc1wise until ti&t. $emember not to o*er
ti&ten.
/ $emember4 te detector sould be set to len&t so tat it is strai&t wit your (orearm
and (eels com(ortable and li&t wen you pic1 it up.

"ensiti*ity is te le*el o( response to a tar&et. Te !ista "#A$T is i&ly sensiti*e and as a wide
ad3ustment ran&e. Altou& te !ista "#A$T as an operatin& (re:uency o( 1%4% 1H; (or a
smoot and :uiet operation4 it is *ery important to set te "ensiti*ity le*el correctly accordin& to te
detectin& conditions.
A i& "ensiti*ity settin& enables te detection o( smaller and deeper tar&ets. -en te "ensiti*ity
is set to i&4 te !ista "#A$T may be a((ected by minerals in certain soils and si&nals (rom elec/
trical appliances. <ou may need to decrease te "ensiti*ity to silence (alse si&nals or electrical in/
ter(erence. Tis will result in a more stable operation o( te !ista "#A$T.
Always coose te i&est stable "ensiti*ity settin& to ensure best per(ormance. Tis is done by
turnin& te "ensiti*ity 1nob to te ri&t until te !ista "#A$T becomes unstable= ten reduce te
"ensiti*ity by one or two settin&s until it is stable.

Te Ground 1nob is used to ad3ust te !ista "#A$T to te soil conditions and correct &round
e((ects encountered durin& detectin&. #inerali;ation and >Hot $oc1s? may cause (alse si&nals.
Ground balancin& te !ista "#A$T reduces (alse si&nals (rom &round minerali;ation= more
accurately re3ects (errous minerals or pottery containin& iron oxides and enables tar&ets to be eard
correctly. .( tere are >Hot roc1s?4 tese can be elliminated by turnin& te Ground 1nob to te
ri&t.
,earnin& ow to properly Ground balance will &i*e you a an ad*anta&e o*er oters especially i(
tey are runnin& tere detectors in an auto &round balance mode.

Tere is an indicator >,ow Bat? on te (ace plate o( te control box. .( te indicator li&ts up and
stays on4 te batteries are almost totally exausted. At tis sta&e4 stop detectin& and replace te
batteries. .( te indicator blin1s wen a tar&et is detected4 te batteries are low. .n tis case4 it is
best to replace te batteries at tis time. Te a*era&e battery li(e is about 2C/2% ours. Axtremely
wea1 batteries may te reason (or (alse si&nals. @eepTec stron&ly recommends to use + x 14% !
AA Al1aline batteries. -en usin& recar&eable batteries4 we stron&ly recommend usin& batteries
wit more tan 2CCCmADH.

Te (ollowin& steps will explain ow to Ground Balance te !ista "#A$T. Tis is a *ery simple
process tat allows you to balance te !ista "#A$T to all types o( soil. Tis is *ery important in
order to obtain maximum sensiti*ity to small tar&ets and dept.
Turn on te !ista "#A$T wit te 0ower "witc

Turn te Ground 1nob all te way to te le(t

$epeat tis process as you &radually turn te Ground 1nob to te ri&t until tere is no or *ery
little noise as you lower and raise te coil

Balance in te 2 Tone #ode is more precise. <ou can ten switc to wic e*er mode you coose.
