In the rap world, women represent success, and they are treated almost as accessories: a means
for rappers to prove that they have made it to the top. Unfortunately, sex sells in our society, and
the media has uncovered this fixation. This article portrays exactly why men use women in
music videos to downgrade them.

Rap music videos are not neutral. They communicate cogently clear and subtle messages.
Namely, many of the rap music videos tend to objectify or de-humanize women. Our cultures
obsession with using women precedes the advent of rap music.

A lack of balance in the numbers of male and female industry, radio and marketing executives
perpetuates these notions. As a society where women were initially denied the right to vote, the
nation was built on what tickles mens fancies. Once hyper-sexualized and demeaned, women
are arguably left figuratively tickling because fancy is always entertaining.

constantly climbing higher on the social ladder. If the TV industry really wants to give these
teens hope, they need to portray gay teens as they areuncertainty and all.

The songs society grows up dancing to, whose vulgar lyrics we barely even pay attention to, are
an almost circus-like celebration of the hypnotic beauty of the female form. The world believes
that seeing a woman completely in control of her body and her sexuality, dancing to songs that
were meant to objectify her but only end up highlighting the power of her autonomy, is
viscerally attractive.

The music began to change from lyrics about struggles and hardships to ones emphasizing sex
and demeaning portrayals of women. This once relatable genre of music has, in the past couple
of generations, transformed into a way to degrade women, corrupt youth with sex, alcohol and
violence, and provide men with a sense of superiority in relationships.

Robin Thickes summer hit "Blurred Lines" addresses what sounds like a grey area between
consensual sex and assault. Thicke further sings Youre a good girl, suggesting that a good girl
wont show her reciprocal desire (if it exists). This becomes further proof in his mind that she
wants sex: for good girls, silence is consent and no really means yes. The implication in
Blurred Lines is that because the woman is not responding to a mans sexual advances, which of
course are irresistible, shes hiding her true sexual desire under a facade of disinterest.

Coca-Cola history began in 1886 when the curiosity of an Atlanta pharmacist, Dr. John S.
Pemberton, led him to create a distinctive tasting soft drink that could be sold at soda fountains.
He created a flavored syrup, took it to his neighborhood pharmacy, where it was mixed with
carbonated water and deemed excellent by those who sampled it. Dr. Pembertons partner and
bookkeeper, Frank M. Robinson, is credited with naming the beverage Coca Cola as well as
designing the trademarked, distinct script, still used today.
