Week #1 January 29

The first week at my internship consisted of mainly housekeeping and logistics. I was given an
email address to use throughout the semester and was introduced to numerous daily emails I
would be getting from HARO, Bisnow Events, Bisnow and Mediabistro. These emails are
targeted at PR professionals and give updates on what is happening in the PR world. I learned
that HARRO specifically, was the most important to open right away, a website that sends out
daily alerts in regards to specific article topics needed. For the semester I will be in charge of
scanning the lists to see if any of Bulldogs clients would be a good match for any of the topics
needed for a story.

I would like to personally invite you to attend (and hopefully cover) Capitol City Brewing
Companys first annual SpringFest on Saturday, April 26 from 12:00 noon 7:00 p.m. This
inaugural beer-tasting event will celebrate the spring season with music, food and of course
excellent beer! More than 40 local breweries will be in attendance to provide beer samples
including the unveiling of Capitol Citys first seasonal batch of Hefeweizen.

Please RSVP back to me if you would like to attend and feel free to bring a guest. A media
advisory is below with additional information and high-resolution event photos are attached.

Beers,
Steven

To practice pitching stories and inviting media to events I called On Tap Magazine and
Richmond- Dispatch to invite them and ask to send photographers to Capitol Citys
Springfest.

I also listed the Springfest event on numerous local event-posting sites to maximize
exposure.

Week #12 April 21 & 23 & 25 & 26

I helped Steven finalizes the script to send in to Lets Talk Live and made clips of
SpringFest media placements. I also wrote out an email to send to media that RSVPed for
Springfest letting them know information on where to get their tickets and different media
opportunities that would be available at the festival.

I went with Steven And Kristi Griner to Lets Talk Live for a segment to promote the
upcoming SpringFest. I finalized the Springfest media list to include all RSVPed media.

I wrote a rough draft of a media advisory announcing Urban Country Designs Annual

About Urban Country

I attended SpringFest at the Arlington Capitol City Brewing Company location. I took photos
and tweeted using the designated hash tag #CapCitySpringFest.

Week #13 April 28 & 30

Steven and I looked over pictures that we took at SpringFest to pick the best ones to send to
Bisnow scene and other publications for post event coverage. I also wrote up a small
synopsis of the event to attach with the pictures.

I also posted the finalized press release for the Urban Country spring sale on PRLog,
BrightestYoungThings, USA9, BethesdaPatch and Eventful.

CAPITOL CITY BREWING COMPANY HOSTED
FIRST ANNUAL SPRINGFEST AND DEBUTED ITS FIRST SEASONAL BATCH OF
HEFEWEIZEN

On Saturday, Capitol City Brewing Company celebrated its first annual SringFest at Arlingtons
Shirlington Village Northern Virginias only spring beer festival. Thousands of beer
aficionados, swarmed the four-block streetscape and sampled hundreds of different spring ales
and lagers from more than 40 local breweries including Port City, Mad Fox, Lost Rhino,
Hardywood Park Craft Brewery, Apocalypse Ale Works, Sunken City and Lickinghole Creek,

Capitol City also debuted its first batch of seasonal Hefeweizen, a German-style wheat beer. In
addition to sampling delicious beers, attendees celebrated the warm weather listening to tunes by
DJ Julius and enjoying cuisine from Shirlington Village eateries.

I monitored the web to find media placement from the press release Matt wrote announcing an
Alice and Olivia store opening in Georgetown. I also checked the websites of media who
attended SpringFest to see if they had posted anything yet about the event.

Week #14 May 5 & 7

I went with Steven to Vid Fitness for the day to escort a photographer around the facilities to
take videos and pictures as well as gather quotes from staff members. Specifically the
photographer was focused on the endless pools they have at Vida as they are not seen very
frequently at gyms

I made various clips for articles about Vidas summer workouts and Urban Countries summer
sale.

To celebrate my last day we went out to lunch in DC and I said goodbye to Steven and Matt.
