Organization Master Data Setup

After the initial installation settings are done, the first step in configuring the application for an
organisation is to Set-Up the Organisational Master Data. This data is also referred as
Foundation Data.

)ith Set &D*s definition it is possible to control what a business unit can access within a table, as
the# are used to restrict or grant access to different data in a single table thereb# allowing table
set sharing. &n +#z !o"pan#, each 'O$ ,'ine of business- "aintain separate depart"ent,
designation etc. Set&D will be created for each line of business so that each 'O$ can .iew
respecti.e data.

Business Units
The $usiness Units are logical organizational entities, deter"inant on "an# control tables, which
are a wa# of trac0ing specific business infor"ation for reporting and for data collection. &n+#z

The purpose of the !o"pan# table is to define organization*s legal business entities.

!o"pan# is defined with code, the effecti.e date fro" which it e5ists, short and long description
of the co"pan# and the address. &t can be associated with the 'ocation, if it was alread# set up,
and the corresponding set &D.
1eopleSoft allows 2 characters for !o"pan# code. Also, the 6FFDT can be set for all co"panies
as *78-78-8977* to a.oid an# data discrepancies.

This page is used to specif# default co"pan# infor"ation, li0e regulator# region and currenc#
code. The .alues can be o.erridden at :ob le.el. 1a#roll for /orth A"erica will be ignored, as
well as the lin0ed fields.

This page can be used to define the co"pan#*s industr# ,t#pe of industr# and industr# sector-
and the phone nu"bers of the co"pan#, li0e business, fa5, etc.
ompan!" Rules De%inition tab'
This page can be used to define the deci"al precision for Full-Ti"e 6;ui.alenc#, so the purpose
is to enter the nu"ber of deci"al positions that the s#ste" will use to calculate FT6. FT6 is used
for calculating the e"plo#ees pa# on basis of hours wor0ed. This feature will not be re;uired for
D$.

The purpose of establishing 'ocations in 1eopleSoft application is to clearl# identif# ph#sical
local place where the e"plo#ees wor0.
1eopleSoft 'ocations would be "apped with the actual +#z !o"pan# office locations. For each
location the default holida#-schedule will also be specified.

This page is used to record the 'ocation description, address, phone<Fa5, building, floor,
countr#, etc.

This page is used to store the location profile infor"ation, such as
Salar! De%ault = The Setid and Salar# plan will be used to default the salar# infor"ation
Regulator! Region or 4egion
Holida! S$&edule = a code defined with the specific holida#s of the 'ocation
Di(ision = lin0ed with the location
6ach 'ine of $usiness shares the 'ocations and thus, one setid will be created for each 'ine of
$usiness. &f a location is co""on for State and !orporate Office or State and Unit Office a
different location code will be configured to enable accurate data securit#. The list of locations
will be finalized in Steering.
Sub)#o$ation The purpose of establishing Sub 'ocations in 1eopleSoft application is to clearl#
identif# ph#sical local place where the e"plo#ees wor0.
1eopleSoft Sub 'ocations would be "apped with the actual +#z !o"pan#
Departments
The Depart"ents are an i"portant definition of the organizational structure. $ased on the
Depart"ent, the 'ocation code, co"pan# and "anager &D can be defaulted at the wor0er le.el.
+#z !o"pan# has currentl# "an# Depart"ents<>erticals such as Finance and Accounts, ?4,
6ditorial etc. These depart"ents can be "apped to 1eopleSoft depart"ents. These depart"ents
t#picall# ha.e parent le.el depart"ent or .erticals. 6ach .ertical will ha.e respecti.e corporate
head, state heads and unit heads.

Departments " Pro%ile
&n this page, Manager T#pe can be used to define the Manager &D or Manager*s 1osition nu"ber
of the depart"ent. Since +#z !o"pan# has depart"ents centrall# organized, thus, this feature
will not be used.

Department Tree
&n 1eopleSoft, Depart"ent tree will be built representing the depart"ent le.el hierarch#. &t can
also be used for go.erning the data securit# access but currentl# +#z will use 'ocation based
data securit# access.

the depart"ent tree. &t is essential to do this to "aintain the integrit# between the depart"ent

be "apped to 1eopleSoft (ob !ode. (ob !ode has standard hours, wor0 period, co"pensation
fre;uenc# etc.

+ob Famil! &t categorizes a :ob code into a "ore general grouping. For e5a"ple, a trust anal#st

!o"pensation are used "ainl# for !o"pensation and will not be configured in D$.
