Dear Friend,
On behalf of our hosts Mindy and Ira Mitzner, President Richard M. Joel,
Rabbi Kenneth Brander and the entire Yeshiva University family, welcome to the
eighth annual ChampionsGate Leadership Conference. It is truly a pleasure for
us to gather together for what we hope will be another inspiring and meaningful
ChampionsGate experience.
This years conference, titled, Kehilla: What We Bring To It, will focus on
the broader narrative of community. Together, we will journey through four
lands, Skills, Knowledge, Inspiration and Networking and challenge ourselves
to think about having SKIN in the game, and our individual and collective roles
and responsibilities on the local, national and global levels. Through innovative
sessions in each of these four lands, we will learn, gain practical hands-on
tools, and establish collaborative partnerships with fellow participants and
Yeshiva University. As always, Shabbat provides us an opportunity for spiritual
rejuvenation through shiurim from Yeshivas world class faculty, inspirational
tellot, and singing.
We are excited to announce a new feature at this years conference: ELI Talks.
In partnership with The AVI CHAI Foundation, this years program will feature
ELI Talks; 12 minute, TED style, presentations which share innovative and
thought provoking content. It is our hope that the ELI Talks will bring new ideas
to the forefront and foster conversation within the ChampionsGate and larger
Jewish community.
By joining with over 350 delegates representing 70 communities from across
the country and the globe, our collective conversations are enhanced by
unique and varied perspectives and experiences. It is our sincere hope that the
ChampionsGate experience will not only foster fresh ideas, but friendships and
partnerships that will endure to help build a proud and hopeful Jewish future.

Connect and unite with over 350 community leaders
from across the country to create a relaxing, inspiring, and
educational Shabbat experience.
We are looking forward to spending this Shabbat together.
There are a few Shabbat Elements that should be noted:
General Hotel Guidelines:
Please make sure you have your nametag with you at
all times over the course of Shabbat. Your nametag is
your identication and will ensure access to all parts of
the conference.
There will be security guards on your oor to let you
into your guest room. Please show them your nametag
and advise them of your room number so they can let
you into your room.
Please note that on Friday night security will be avail-
able until 1:30 AM, and will resume Shabbat morning
at 7:30 AM. If you need to access your room after 1:30
AM, please advise the hotels front desk.
Please be aware that there is no eruv on the premises.
The restrooms in the public areas of the hotel are
electric. The restrooms on the lower level by the Orlando
and Florida Ballrooms have manual stalls to be used
over Shabbat. There is signage to indicate which stalls
are manual and there are tissues in each of these stalls.
Please stop by the YU Kiosk if you need arrangements
for an elevator over Shabbat
We have arranged for all guests to be on low oors.
Please use the designated stairwell to reach the
conference area. Other stairwells do not lead to our
conference area.
Automatic escalators in the hotel are permitted to
be used on Shabbat. (Shmirat Shabbat Khilchatah,
chapter 23: 52)
Hotel Guest Rooms:
Please note that housekeeping will leave the rooms
as is over Shabbat. Any lights left on/off will stay
that way.
Housekeeping will provide extra tissues and liquid

MS. CHAVI BECKER
Chavi Becker is the Assistant Director
of the Department of Community
Partnership at Yeshiva Universitys
Center for the Jewish Future. In this
capacity, she engages with lay leader-
ship from across North America and
the globe, working specically with
the ChampionsGate community. She
received her Bachelors degree in Biology from Stern
College, and is currently completing an MA in Medieval
Jewish History at Revel and an MS in Organizational
Psychology at Baruch College.
RABBI KENNETH BRANDER
Rabbi Kenneth Brander is the Vice
President for University and Community
Life and the inaugural David Mitzner
Dean of Yeshiva University Center for
the Jewish Future. He is Rabbi Emeritus
of the Boca Raton Synagogue and
founder of the Weinbaum Yeshiva High
School of Broward and Palm Beach
Counties. Rabbi Brander has authored many articles in
various scholarly journals and co-edited The Yeshiva
University Haggadah. He is a PhD candidate (ABD) in
general philosophy at Florida Atlantic University.
DR. JIM CAIN
Team building guru Dr. Jim Cain is
the author of 12 team building books
and has presented programs in 30
countries around the world (so far!)
For ChampionsGate Dr. Cain has
brought his latest, newest and best
team and community building activities
from around the world.
MR. YONI COHEN
As the Director of Operations for
Center for the Jewish Future,
Yoni Cohen oversees the logistical and
operational components of the myriad of
programs that the Center for the Jewish
Future runs annually. With a degree in
accounting and business administration,
he was the Executive Director of
Bnos Malka Academy of Queens for eight years and the
Executive Director of the Sephardic Congregation of
Kew Garden Hills for three years. He, his wife Tzivia, and
four children currently reside in Queens, NY.
DR. ROCHELLE COOPER
Rochelle Cooper, PhD is recognized as
an expert in leadership and organizational
development who coaches and trains
senior Fortune 500 executive leaders to
build their leadership strengths, potential
and team effectiveness. She runs her own
Senior Leadership Development rm, and
teaches in the Executive MBA and MBA
programs of the Frank Zarb School of Business, Hofstra Uni-
versity. She is on the Advisory Board of the Athena Leader-
ship Center at Columbia University and is an executive coach
for Columbia Business School Executive Education programs.
CHAZAN SHIMON CRAIMER
Shimon Craimer is the Chazan at the River-
dale Jewish Center in New York. Shimon
regularly performs at simchas and concerts
as a lead singer for many of the countrys
most popular Jewish orchestras. He travels
far and wide davening in congregations
all over the world. Shimon is a close friend
of Chief Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks and
was featured in his Home of Hope double-CD celebrating
Israels 60th anniversary. He accompanies the Chief Rabbi on
an annual solidarity mission to Israel. His latest album entitled
Roots will be available towards the Yamim Noraim.
MR. NATHAN DIAMENT
Mr. Diament is the Washington DC-
based executive director for public policy
for the Orthodox Union. For more than
fteen years, Diament has worked with
policy makers on issues including the
US-Israel relationship, religious liberty,
support for Jewish day school education,
homeland security, stem cell research,
and more. In 2009, he was appointed by President Obama
to serve as one of 25 members of the Presidents Advisory
Council on Faith-Based & Neighborhood Partnerships. He
is a graduate of Yeshiva College and Harvard Law School.
MRS. ZAHAVA FARBMAN
Zahava Farbman, LMSW, is the associate
director of the Crisis Intervention, Trauma
and Bereavement Department of Chai
Lifeline. As a practicing social worker, she
has built a career on helping families and
communities cope with crises, traumas
and tragedies. Zahava assists families and
communities around the world, and con-
ducts community crisis trainings across the nation. Zahava is
the responder to mental health emergencies for Hatzolah of
the Five Towns and Far Rockaway communities. She resides
in Woodmere, New York with her husband and children.

MR. DAN FORMAN
Dan Forman is the VP for Institutional
Advancement at Yeshiva University and
is responsible for its capital and annual
campaigns as well as its sixteen under-
graduate and graduate schools. Previ-
ously, he was Executive Director
of the UJA-Federation $1.2 billion
Capital Campaign and its principal gifts.
Mr. Forman has been an adjunct professor on strategic
planning and fundraising at the Columbia University
Graduate School of Business, The New School,
Wurzweiler, and other graduate schools, and a guest
speaker on philanthropy at local and national conferences.
DR. SCOTT GOLDBERG
Scott J. Goldberg is Director of
YUs Institute for University-School
Partnership, the ofce that supports
yeshivot and day schools by guiding
recruitment and placement of teachers
and leaders, advancing the quality
of education, and consulting with
schools on nances, operations, and
governance. He holds a PhD in Applied Psychology from
NYU, an MSEd in Special Education from Bank Street
College, and a BA from the University of Chicago.
MRS. LAURA GOLDMAN
Laura Goldman is a lawyer, community
leader, parent coach, wife and mother.
She graduated from YU with a B.S. in
Finance, magna cum laude, and from
Fordham Law School with a J.D. After
almost 12 years with the Ofce of the
Comptroller of the Currency, she joined
the law rm of Barnett Sivon and
Natter as Of Counsel. Laura is active in her local

YU Presidential Fellowship Mentorship Program, and as
a resource to YU and CJF for programming in the DC
area. Laura and her husband, Yossi, live in Silver Spring

MR. ANDREW GOLDSMITH
Andrew Goldsmith serves as an
Assistant Vice President of Institutional
Advancement and Team Leader for
Yeshiva Universitys Center for the
Jewish Future, the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan
Theological Seminary (RIETS), the Azrieli
Graduate School of Jewish Education
and Administration and the Bernard
Revel Graduate School of Jewish Studies. Prior to joining
Yeshivas development team, Andy served at the Orthodox
Union, One Israel Fund and UJA Federation of Bergen
County. An active leader, he serves on the executive board
of several NY area schools and synagogues.
MR. ALAN HELLER
Alan A. Heller received his JD from
Cardozo (class of 1988) and, upon
graduation, joined the Firm of Heller,
Horowitz & Feit, PC. In 1994, Mr. Heller
became a partner of that Firm. This
August, he will be joining the Firm of
Garvey Schubert Barer as a litigation
partner. Mr. Heller specializes in
Commercial Litigation and is general counsel to a number
of small to mid-sized companies. Mr. Heller is Executive
Vice President and Gabbai Rishon at Congregation Beth
Sholom, a member of the Executive Board of HAFTR, and
a recently retired member of the board of directors
of CAJAC.
MR. MALCOLM HOENLEIN
Malcolm Hoenlein is the Executive
Vice Chairman/CEO of the
Conference of Presidents of Major
American Jewish Organizations. He
received his BA from Temple University
and completed his PhD coursework at
The University of Pennsylvania where
he taught International Relations and
was a Middle East specialist at the Foreign Policy
Research Institute. He was the Founding Executive
Director of both the JCRC of Greater New York and of
the Greater New York Conference on Soviet Jewry.
Mr. Hoenlein appears regularly in the media and has
lectured and met leading ofcials throughout the world.
He has received the Neeman Yerushalayim designation,
the Guardian of Jerusalem and Guardian of Zion awards,
and two Honorary Doctorates, including one from
Yeshiva University. He is Chairman of Americas Voices
in Israel, Co-Chair of the Secure Community Network, a
board member of the Council for Secure America, and
a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

MS. DEBBIE ISAAC
Debbie Isaac currently serves as the
president of AMIT. Ms. Isaac, along
with AMIT, were recognized for their
contributions to Israeli society and to
the State of Israel with the prestigious
Jerusalem Prize in January of 2013
at the annual Jerusalem Conference.
Previously, Ms. Isaac pursued a career
as a corporate reorganization attorney for Fortune 500
companies at Kaye Scholer in New York City and as a
real estate attorney at Cuddy & Feder in White Plains.
A graduate of Barnard College and New York University
School of Law, Ms. Isaac resides in New Rochelle with
her husband David, a Yeshiva College board member, and
their four children.
PRESIDENT RICHARD M. JOEL
Richard M. Joel is the fourth president
of Yeshiva University and the Bravmann
Family University Professor. In this role,
he has championed a renewed focus on
academic excellence, enriched student
life, and broadened service to the Jew-
ish world and the greater population.
Throughout his career, he has stressed
the importance of Jewish leadership and identity. Prior
to his appointment, he served as the President and
International Director of Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish
Campus Life. He and his wife, Esther, live in Riverdale.
They have six children and four grandchildren.
RABBI JOSH JOSEPH
Rabbi Josh Joseph is the Senior
Vice President of Yeshiva University.
With the guidance of President Richard
M. Joel and Board of Trustees, and
in partnership with the Provost, Josh
oversees the strategic planning of the
university, infusing his creative and
entrepreneurial thinking into the
business development and advancement of all aspects
of Yeshiva. Passionate about developing the next
generation of professional and communal leaders,
Josh directs YUs leadership incubator, the Presidential
Fellowship. Josh lives in Lawrence with his wife Julie
and their three children.
MS. LEORA JOSEPH
Leora Joseph is the Chief Deputy
District Attorney handling the special
victims unit in the 18th Judicial district,
Colorado. Prior to that, she lived in
Boston where she served as Chief of
the Child Protection Unit in the Boston
District Attorney's Ofce. She is a
career prosecutor who has worked with
victims of sexual and physical abuse. She has been a
guest lecturer at Harvard Law School, Boston University
School of Social Work and Northeastern Law School.
She will be teaching a class at Denver University in the
fall on children and the law. She lives in Colorado with
her husband and 3 kids. She is Rabbi Josh (Joshy)
Joseph's older sister.
DR. JAMES KAHN
James Kahn is the Henry and Bertha
Kressel Professor of Economics at
Yeshiva University, and has been
chair of the Economics Department
since 2009. Dr. Kahn has published
widely on such topics as inventory
investment dynamics, the sources
of business cycle uctuations, and
productivity growth. He has previously taught at the
University of Rochester, Columbia, Yale and New York
University. Dr. Kahn received his PhD in economics from
MIT and his BA from Harvard.
MR. MOISH KRANZLER
Mr. Moish Kranzler is the Director of
Undergraduate Admissions of Yeshiva
University. In this capacity, he imple-
mented many innovative events such as
the Wittenberg Wrestling Tournament,
The Red Sarachek Basketball Tourna-
ment and the Yeshiva University National
Model United Nations. He travels
extensively throughout the United States and Israel
recruiting high school students for Yeshiva University,
and consults and advises them and their parents. In
particular, Moish is an expert with regard to the Israel year
experience, Honors application process, student support
services, career services and nancial aid.

RABBI ELIAKIM KOENIGSBERG
Rabbi Eliakim Koenigsberg is a Rosh
Yeshiva at RIETS. Rabbi Koenigsberg
received ordination from RIETS, was
a fellow of its Gruss Kollel Elyon, and
served for ve years as Rebbe in the
Stone Beit Midrash Program at YU.
A sought-after lecturer, he has served
as Rosh Kollel of YUs summer kollel
in Silver Spring, MD. He is the author of two annotated
volumes of selected shiurim by the Rav, and he recently
published his notes on Tractate Yevamos entitled
Kuntres Hearos al Maseches Yevamos.
DR. HENRY KRESSEL
Dr. Kressel currently serves as
Chairman of the Board of Trustees
of Yeshiva University. He is a senior
partner of Warburg Pincus, a diversied
global private equity rm where
he has been responsible for many
global investments in technology
companies. A graduate of Yeshiva
College, he earned an MS from Harvard in Applied
Physics, a PhD in Material Science from the University
of Pennsylvania, and an MBA from its Wharton School.
He was elected to the National Academy of Engineering
and is a Fellow of the American Physical Society
and the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.
Formerly head of electronic device research at RCA,
Dr. Kressel holds 31 patents and has published more
than 120 papers and four books. His most recent three
books all published by Cambridge University Press are:
Competing For The Future: How Digital Innovations
Are Changing The World (2007); Investing In Dynamic
Markets: Venture Capital In The Digital Age (2010); and
Entrepreneurship In The Global Economy Engine For
Economic Growth (2012).
MR. AVI LAUER
Mr. Lauer is Vice President for Legal
Affairs, Secretary and General Counsel
of Yeshiva University. He also serves
as Counsel to the President of the
University. Previously, Mr. Lauer was
a Partner at Thelen LLP and a senior
member of the Ofce of the General
Counsel at PricewaterhouseCoopers
LLP and Deloitte LLP. He is an active lay leader in the
Jewish community and has served as President of the
Young Israel of Woodmere and Chairman and Honorary
Past President of HAFTR.
RABBI AARON LEIBOWITZ
Rabbi Aaron Leibowitz serves as Deputy
to the President of Yeshiva University
for Philanthropy and Community. Rabbi
Aaron Leibowitz received a bachelor's
degree from Sy Syms School of Busi-
ness and rabbinic ordination from the
Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Semi-
nary at YU. Previously, Rabbi Leibowitz
served as Director of the Department of Community Initia-
tives at Yeshiva Universitys Center for the Jewish Future
and worked for several synagogues, crafting creative and
inspirational community programs.
MR. MENACHEM LEWIN
Menachem is a Project Manager
at Center for the Jewish Future. In this
capacity, he oversees the logistical and
operational pieces of ChampionsGate,
the Kohelet Fellowship, the seven
school kollelim, and the six summer
learning and internship initiatives.
Menachem is Vice President of
Aish Kodesh in Woodmere, NY and is on the Board of
Trustees at the Hebrew Academy of Long Beach
(HALB). He resides in Woodmere with his wife, Susie,
and four children.
MR. MAURY LITWACK
Maury Litwack is Director of State
Political Affairs for the OU. This year, the
OU has secured over $55 million dollars
in state funding for Jewish Education.
Maury has made collaboration and
advocacy training a key part of the OUs
work and in the past year, two states
have consolidated resources and over
100 new community leaders have joined the OU Advocacy
Network. Prior to the OU, Maury served on the staff of two
Congressmen and helped to launch Miami-Dade Countys
DC lobbying ofce.

DR. DAVID MAGERMAN
David Magerman is the founder of the
The Kohelet Foundation, a charitable
organization whose mission is to improve
the quality, efciency and affordability
of Jewish day school education. David is
the proprietor of restaurant Citron and
Rose in Merion Station, PA and
also works as a research scientist at
Renaissance Technologies. He is a member of the board
of the National Math Museum and the Board of Overseers
of the University of Pennsylvania School of Engineering.
This past year David joined the board of trustees of
Yeshiva University. David received his undergraduate
degree from the University of Pennsylvania and his PhD
from Stanford University. David lives with his wife Debra
and their 4 children in the suburbs of Philadelphia.
RABBI LEONARD MATANKY
Rabbi Matanky serves as the Rabbi of
Congregation K.I.N.S. of West Rogers
Park and Dean of Ida Crown Jewish
Academy. He received his ordination
from Hebrew Theological College and
a Ph.D. from NYU. Rabbi Matanky is
President of Rabbinical Council of
America and a member of the CJF
Advisory Council. Rabbi and Mrs. Matanky are parents of
seven children and grandparents of nine grandchildren.
MR. IRA MITZNER
Mr. Mitzner is President of Rida
Development Corporation, a national
and international commercial real estate
investment and development rm based
in Houston, Texas. Ira is the Vice Chair
of the Board of Trustees of Yeshiva
University, chair of the CJF Advisory
Council, and a member of the executive
board of the American Society for Yad Vashem and the
board of directors of State of Israel bonds. In Houston,
Ira is immediate past President of The Robert M. Beren
Academy. Previously, he was President of United Orthodox
Synagogues, co-chaired along with Mindy The Houston
Division of Israel Bonds, was President of the Houston
Kashrut Association, and was a board member of the
Houston Holocaust Museum.
MRS. MINDY MITZNER
Mrs. Mitzner is a graduate of Lehman
College, mother of three children,
Steven, Laura, and Michael, mother-in-
law to Steven Paletz and future mother-
in-law to Stephanie Perl. Mindy, together
with Ira, are active philanthropists both
nationally as well as in Houston, Texas.
She also works at Seven Acres Jewish
Senior Care Services and volunteers at the Texas
Childrens Hospital. Mindy currently sits on the Houston
UJA Federation Board, is President of the United
Orthodox Synagogue Sisterhood, past Board of Education
Chairman of The Robert M. Beren Academy and past
Houston New Leadership State of Israel Bonds Co-Chair.
DR. RONA NOVICK
Dr. Rona Novick is the director of the
Fanya Gottesfeld Heller Doctoral
Program at the Azrieli Graduate School
of Jewish Education and Administration,
Yeshiva University. She is also associate
clinical professor of child psychology at
North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health
System and serves as co-educational
director of Hidden Sparks, an initiative to support diverse
learners in Jewish Day Schools. In addition to teaching,
supervision and administration at Azrieli, she directs the
national BRAVE initiative through the Institute, exploring
and promoting social-emotional leadership development
and bully prevention in Jewish schools.
DR. DAVID PELCOVITZ
Dr. Pelcovitz holds the Gwendolyn
and Joseph Straus Chair in Jewish
Education at Yeshiva Universitys Azrieli
Graduate School of Jewish Education
and Administration. He also teaches
courses in pastoral psychology at
Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological
Seminary and serves as special assis-
tant to the president of Yeshiva University. Dr. Pelcovitz
has published and lectured extensively on a variety of
psycho-social issues in the Jewish community.
RABBI MENACHEM PENNER
Rabbi Penner is the Acting Dean of
the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological
Seminary. Rabbi Penner also serves as
spiritual leader of the Young Israel of
Holliswood in Queens. He received his
semikha from RIETS 94 and his BA

MRS. DINA RABHAN
Dina Rabhan is the Director of
Recruitment, Placement and Induction
at the YU Institute for University-School
Partnership, supporting Jewish day
schools human resource development
needs and individuals career coaching.
A graduate of Stern College and licensed
social worker, Dina is pursuing a doctoral
degree in education at Yeshiva University with a focus
on leadership and school improvement. Dina is also the
Rebbetzin in Kings Point, New York, where she lives with
her husband Rabbi David and their seven daughters.
MR. JONAH RASKAS
Jonah Raskas is an Assistant Director
of Undergraduate Admissions at
Yeshiva University. Jonahs primary role
is to recruit prospective high school
and transfer students from around the
United States, Canada and abroad.
In addition to recruiting students to
the university, Jonah directs the Post
Pesach Program, a mini semester for students returning
from their second or third year of study in Israel. Jonah is
also responsible for managing the social media presence
for the Ofce of Admissions.
MR. MICHAEL SCAGNOLI
Michael Scagnoli has been with the
Universitys Ofce of Communications
and Public Affairs for the past six years.
He leads a team of communications
professionals responsible for reputa-
tion management and media relations,
branding and graphic identity, messag-
ing and design, news and the YU Web
site, and he also directs the Universitys major ceremonial
events. Previously, Scagnoli served as director of opera-
tions and concert production and executive director for
the New York Collegium. Scagnoli received his BA from

RABBI DR. JACOB J. SCHACTER
Rabbi Jacob J. Schacter is University
Professor of Jewish History and Jewish
Thought and Senior Scholar at Yeshiva
Universitys Center for the Jewish
Future. He holds a PhD in Near Eastern
Languages from Harvard University
and received rabbinic ordination from
Mesivta Torah Vodaath. Rabbi Schacter
has authored books, articles, and reviews, and is the
founding editor of The Torah u-Madda Journal.
MRS. YOCHEVED SCHACTER
Shana Yocheved Schacter, RCSW,
is a psychotherapist and psychoanalyst
in private practice where she has been
helping individuals and couples reach
their optimum success in their personal
and professional lives. She has been
consulting to the CJF of YU at the Rabbi
and Rebbetzin Yarchei Kallah since its
inception in areas of leadership and personal growth.
DR. YITZY SCHECHTER
Dr. Yitzchak Schechter, is a recognized
leader in emotional and behavioral health
care in the Jewish community, a clinical
psychologist and Director of The Center
for Applied Psychology (CAPs) at Bikur
Cholim in Monsey, New York. He has
most recently launched the Institute
for Applied Research and Community
Collaboration(ARCC), a unique institute whose mission
is to conduct, analyze and disseminate rigorous research
on psychiatric, psychological and social issues of the frum
community.
MRS. SHOSHANA SCHECHTER
Shoshana Schechter is assistant
professor of Bible at Stern College for
Women and director of the Mechina
program there. She is a graduate of
Stern College, with a B.S. in Judaic
Studies and English Literature, and
holds masters degrees from Bernard
Revel Graduate School of Jewish
Studies as well as from Columbia University School of
Journalism. She is a frequent lecturer on topics in Tanach
and has been involved in Jewish outreach programs on
four continents.
MRS. SUZY SCHWARTZ
Suzy joined YU in 2010 as Assistant
Dean, Center for the Jewish Future.
Armed with strategic and management
skills from the world of corporate adver-
tising, Suzy had most recently served as
SVP, Senior Account Director at BBDO,
a leading worldwide advertising agency.
Suzy is a community activist playing
leadership roles in her synagogue and local schools.
An alumnus of Stern College, Suzy has an MBA in

RABBI RONALD SCHWARZBERG
Rabbi Ronald Schwarzberg serves
as the Director of the Morris and
Gertrude Bienenfeld Department of
Jewish Career Development and
Placement, a division of Yeshiva
Universitys Center for the Jewish
Future. Rabbi Schwarzberg, a graduate
of Yeshiva Universitys Yeshiva College
and Ferkauf School of Psychology, received his
ordination from Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological
Seminary (RIETS). He and his wife, Judy, reside in
Highland Park, New Jersey where he was formerly the
longtime spiritual leader of Congregation Ahavas Achim.
DR. AARON SEGAL
Aaron Segal is Assistant Professor of
Philosophy at Yeshiva College. He has
published articles and lectured widely
on topics in metaphysics, philosophy of
religion, Jewish philosophy, and Jewish
law, and received his PhD in philosophy
from the University of Notre Dame.
Dr. Segal studied under the direction
of Rav Aharon Lichtenstein in the Kollel Gavoah at
Yeshivat Har Etzion, and will be receiving semikha from
the Chief Rabbinate of Israel.
MR. NACHUM SEGAL
Nachum Segal is the voice of Jewish
radio. He has been host of JM in the
AM since 1983 when he brought the
training and experience he received
at Yeshiva College Radio to the greater
Jewish and radio world. JM in the
AM airs in the NJ/NY area and is
available around the world online
(jmintheam.org). Through his daily morning show and
24 hour online network (www.nachumsegal.com),
Nachum brings music, news and guests of interest to
hundreds of thousands of listeners.
RABBI DR. DAVID SHABTAI
Rabbi David Shabtai, MD is a fellow
of the Wexner Kollel Elyon at RIETS.

DR. DAVID SHATZ
David Shatz is Professor of Philosophy
at YU and editor of both The Torah
u-Madda Journal and the series
Me-Otzar HoRav: Selected Writings of
Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik. He has
published fteen books and nearly
seventy articles and reviews, encom-
passing both general and Jewish
philosophy. A musmakh of RIETS, he received his PhD
with distinction from Columbia University. In 2009
Dr. Shatz was awarded the YU Presidential Medallion.
MR. BARRY SHRAGE
Barry Shrage has served as president of
Combined Jewish Philanthropies (CJP)
Bostons Jewish Federation since
1987. Barry has helped make formal and
informal Jewish education and the pursuit
of a Jewish renaissance in Boston CJPs
highest priority. Creating a tipping point
for Jewish learning and Jewish identity
within an open and diverse community has become an
obsession for Bostons Jewish community. Barry gradu-
ated from City College of New York and earned a masters
degree in social work from Boston University.
RABBI DR. MEIR SOLOVEICHIK
Rabbi Dr. Meir Soloveichik is Director of
the Zahava and Moshael Straus Center
for Torah and Western Thought at YU
and Rabbi at Congregation Shearith
Israel in Manhattan. He graduated
summa cum laude from YU, received
his semikha from RIETS, and was a
member of its Beren Kollel Elyon. In
2010, he received his doctorate in Religion from Princeton
University. Rabbi Soloveichiks essays on Jewish theol-
ogy, ethics and Jewish-Christian relations have appeared
in The Wall Street Journal, Commentary, First Things,

RABBI DAVID STAV
Rabbi David Stav is Chief Rabbi of the
City of Shoham, co-founder & Chairman
of the Tzohar organization and leading
Zionist candidate for Chief Rabbi of the
State of Israel. Rav Stav is a graduate of
Yeshivat Mercaz HaRav and has quali-
cation for Dayanut (Rabbinical Judge).
Rav Stav lectures in the women's Judaic
program at Bar Ilan University, hosts a weekly television

MRS. EVELYN STAVSKY
As a Managing Director and Global
Head of Structured Lending at Citi-
group, Evelyn retains responsibility for
the Asset Finance Group and the
securitization conduit lending platform.
Serving as an advisor and principal,
Evelyn has closed transactions in the
rail, aircraft, real estate, power, renew-
able energy and shipping sectors. Previously, Evelyn was
involved in the origination and execution of transactions
at Macquarie Bank, and advised both issuers and
investors with Fulbright & Jaworski and Lord Day & Lord
Barrett Smith. Evelyn holds an LLM in taxation from NYU
School of Law, a JD from Cardozo and a BA from YU.
DR. BARUCH STERMAN
Baruch Sterman received his BA from
Yeshiva College and PhD in physics
from the Hebrew University, and has
been active in the high-tech industry in
Israel and America for over 30 years.
He is cofounder of the Ptil Tekhelet
Foundation and author (along with his
wife, Judy Taubes Sterman, SC 86), of
The Rarest Blue: The Remarkable Story of an Ancient
Color Lost to History and Rediscovered. He has
published numerous articles on Science and Torah, as
well as on the topic of tekhelet, and lectures worldwide
on both of these subjects.
DR. GILLIAN STEINBERG
Dr. Gillian Steinberg is Associate
Professor of English at Yeshiva College,
where she serves as Director of Writing
and supervises senior Honors Thesis
writers in addition to teaching Modern
Poetry and Short Fiction. She is the
author of two books, Philip Larkin and
His Audiences and Thomas Hardy:
The Poems, and regularly publishes articles and
presents papers on literature, composition theory, and
pedagogy. She was named the Lillian F. and William L.
Silber Professor of the Year for 2011-2012.
MRS. MIRIAM L. WALLACH
Miriam L. Wallach, MSEd, MA is the
General Manager of The Nachum Segal
Network. She began her career with
The Network three years ago as a host
and producer. Miriam also writes Dear
Thats Life, a featured column on OU
Life, and has a blog by the same name.
She was a noted Language Arts teacher
for fteen years, included in Whos Who in Americas
Teachers three years in a row. She and her husband are
the proud parents of six children.
MR. MORRY WEISS
Morry Weiss is the past Chairman of the
Board of Trustees, Yeshiva University. He
joined American Greetings in 1961 as a
sales representative. In the subsequent
years, he held a variety of positions,
including Group Vice President of Sales,
Marketing and Creative. In June 1978,
Weiss was appointed President and
Chief Operating Ofcer of the corporation, became the
Chief Executive Ofcer in 1987, and then Chairman of the
Board while retaining his title of Chief Executive Ofcer in
1992. By 1996, the company had doubled its size in less
than a decade and reached $2 billion in total revenues.
MRS. SHIRA YOSHOR
Shira Radinsky Yoshor received her
BA from Stern College and her JD
from the University of Chicago.
Shira is a member of YUs Board of
Trustees, Chair of Sterns Board, and
serves on the CJF Advisory Council.
She is married to Daniel Yoshor, a
neurosurgeon and graduate of YC, and
has four children. Shira is a partner at Baker Botts, LLP,

MS. ANITA ZUCKER
Anita Zucker serves as CEO of The
InterTech Group, a family owned and
operated business that she and her
late husband Jerry, OBM founded.
Anita holds a BA in Education and an
MEd in Educational Administration and

REBBETZIN ESTHER ROSENBLATT
YARCHEI KALLAH FOR REBBETZINS
Convene groups of rebbetzins to support and strengthen
the skills they need to succeed in their unique role.
The program includes in-depth textual learning on topics
on which the rebbetzins desire additional knowledge,
mentoring between veteran and new rebbetzins, mental
health conversations on a wide range of issues that the
rebbetzins often deal with, and guidance on how to help
the rabbinic family develop while being raised in the
eye of the community.
