Human Major Achievements since 19
th
Century

1. Introduction
This project may focus on the human achievements which bring about
contributions to the progress of modern civilization in terms of
international relationships, economic development and environmental
conservation since 19
th
Century. With the inputs delivered by teachers
from History, Geography and Business Studies in lessons, you may work
with group mates to investigate one human achievement that you consider
as historically, geographically or economically meaningful to the
worldwide population. It could be an international organization, a treaty /
protocol, a scientific invention, an economic system or policy, etc. A
more detailed list of examples is shown below:

4. Presentation Guideline (total marks: 50 marks)
In your powerpoint, you should consider the following criteria:

data / evidence to illustrate the differences between
before and after the achievement being formed)

3. Limitations of the achievement (what problems still
remain unsolved or what new problems emerged
because of the achievement)

4. Offers additional perspectives: includes other
perspectives that go beyond the field of the
achievement researched

5. Suggestions to improve the effectiveness of the
achievement, such as:
- To extend the coverage of the policy
- To add new conditions in order to solve the new
problems emerged

5. Information Sheet Guideline (10 marks) individual marks
The content of the information sheet can mainly base on the presentation
powerpoint, but the part(s) prepared by each student need to be stated
clearly as the individual marks would be given for each students.


6. Grouping
Each group should have 3 to 4 students, each class could be split into
around 8 groups.

7. Deadline
Due Date: 23/5 (Day A, Thursday). Presentation order will be decided
later.
Submission: Powerpoint Slide and Information Sheet (both hard and
soft copies, send copies should be sent to your THREE humanities
teachers)
