Job Title: Associate General Manager - SCM
Department: Supply Chain Harsco Rails
Work Location: Kolkata

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for sales distribution including customer service, sales and purchase
order management, inventory management, demand forecast, parts planning, retrofit planning and
monitoring, procurement.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Main Supply Chain responsibilities consist in but are not limited to: demand forecast,
inventory optimization, on-time delivery internally and to external Customers, parts
procurement, cost management and optimization.

Ensure Material fulfillment supports financial performance, Revenue, Cost, Profit.

Monitor supplier performance and identify root cause in meeting performance expectation.

Full ownership of inventory level in the region with monthly reporting and action plan to
meet yearly targets.

Responsible of all material management processes related to Harsco Rails supply chains.

Ensure Creation and maintenance of purchase orders and sales orders including accuracy of
requested and acknowledged dates up to the completion of the deliveries.

Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to Sales Forecast, Distribution Revenue and Customer

Develop, create and/or maintain an opportunity analysis to evaluate new material and
vendor opportunities.

Report vendor performance to commitment for all material. Identify performance short falls
and issue recommendation to fix potential issues.

Maintain a root cause analysis report that measures the gaps between material availability
to customer commitments. Identify actions and escalation requirements necessary to fix and
improve performance.

Report backlog levels with risk and opportunities with list of units to be expedited from
central supply chains.

Report stock levels, measuring inventory performance to budget. Identify risk and
opportunities for stock increase and shortages impacting business support, cash in and cash

Communicate sales opportunities and collaborate with Sales and Marketing on customer
proposals to drive revenues.

Participate to the Sales Goal reviews with Sales and Marketing

Collaborate with central supply chain and the other regions to build up a joint planning for
all materials managed with a forecast, and to ensure part availability in the Americas region
to support the business goals.

Close collaboration with Finance on appropriate inventory reserves, cycle counting
processes and results, and write-off scenarios.

Monitors and evaluates the activities of the department employees, while providing
coaching, motivation, guidance and training to ensure operational efficiency and adherence
to company policies and procedures.

Is available and regularly seeking input from the team to improve existing processes and
innovate to improve performance, responsiveness, and velocity of business. Leads by

Education/Training/Work Experience

Bachelors degree or equivalent; MBA preferred.
Minimum of 10+ years in a position with significant management responsibilities.
Knowledge of Rails / Heavy Engineering / Heavy Machines and / or support business preferred.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of inventory, purchasing and logistics processes
Strong communication, leadership and management skills
Strong Ability in customer relation management
