Liakada: The Sunshine City
Leave the days of cold and wet weather behind and experience the perfect, warm beach
weather every day. Liakada, which is Greek for sunshine, was established by Greek architectural
designers many years ago. Many great qualities about our city are obviously the great weather,
architecture, nature, low crime rates, and outstanding sport teams. Liakada is a popular place for
many people to start their families because of the multiple opportunities that are provided within
the city. The city of Liakada is a fairly large city located near the Mediterranean. The current
population of the city is around 201,000 inhabitants (Fontana). Over 90 percent of the
population identifies as having a Christian faith. There are two major churches in the area that
most people attend, Faith and Fellowship Church and Hope Community Church. The churches
both give back immensely to the community. They go into the city to help volunteer at hospitals,
provide food for those who may be struggling, and also provide a daycare center for kids who
need to stay somewhere after school. Both churches focus on spreading Gods love rather than
harassing people who they think are living wrong. There is a lot of diversity within the city of
Liakada. With the city being near the Mediterranean Sea there are many races represented such
as European, Spanish, African, and Middle Eastern. The official language of the city is English
but many people know Greek, Spanish, and Zulu.
The mayor of the city is Mr. Jordan Johnson who is in his second term. Many people in
the city look up to him like many Americans did to President Franklin Delano Roosevelt because
of the great changes he has brought to the city. He was raised in the city of Liakada and has done

a major amount of work to improve the city from the condition it was in when he grew up. Major
improvements to the city include the stadiums of the sports teams, the new theatre building at a
popular school, Hills High School, and new roadwork construction to make the streets smoother.
Most of the jobs that are provided throughout the city are in the corporate world. Other popular
jobs include working for the stadiums, the Liakada City Hospital, and the police department.
Most of the smaller jobs such as restaurants, small businesses, and retail are usually employed by
teens and college students.
In the city of Liakada, the temperature rarely drops below 60 degrees. Throughout the
year the city only produces rain about two weeks on average. Most people seem happier when
the sun is shining. The warm weather provides the city to have many outdoor activities
throughout the entire year. Many people have pool parties, outdoor weddings and birthday
parties. In downtown there are areas that have massive amounts of shade for when it gets
extremely hot. Occasionally, Liakada can experience minor earthquakes from time to time but
has never experienced anything over a 4.4 magnitude. Sometimes the earthquakes have done
very little damage to buildings throughout the city.
The architecture in the city is inspired by Greece, but also has a modern twist on it. Many
of the buildings downtown have Ionic pillars holding them up (Hemmingway). There are also
multiple sculptures of great philosophers and important people that have greatly impacted the
city such as Alexander Gold. Alexander was one of the architects that helped create the city.
Hope Community Church has a large statue of Jesus like the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio
de Janeiro, Brazil behind their church. The statue is 38 meters tall and is the most popular
landmark of the city (Trem Do Corcovado). Many of the residents love the architecture because
it reminds them of the citys history.

The city is very modern because it contains new technology. Many things in the city are
computer generated. The new technology, tablets, are used everywhere and no one has to use a
computer or a laptop. This saves lots of money and space where a computer would usually go.
There is rarely the use of paper, but most of it is found in books.
The library is one of the greatest pieces of architectural work in the city. The library and
city hall share the center of the city with a sculpture separating the two. The librarys architecture
is similar to the Parthenon in Greece on the outside yet the inside is almost entirely made of
glass. There are 6 floors, a small restaurant, caf, a small retail store, and a tutoring center.
Even though the weather can be very warm, Liakada has a lot of nature in the northern
area of the city. The area is very green and lush and contains hiking trails and a small park. The
hiking trail within the area is where people can exercise and enjoy nature at the same time. There
are four hiking trails that people have the choice to use. The trails are very popular and one of the
main ways that citizens choose to workout. There are small animals within the nature areas such
as rabbits, birds, and squirrels. There have never been any incidents of the animals harming any
citizens. In the park there is a small pond with fish, a playground, and basketball courts. Many
people do yoga at the park as they find it a peaceful place. The nature area influences people to
go outside and exercise rather than staying inside. Liakada prides itself with having a low obesity
rate. Health and fitness are taken very seriously within the city and most people enjoy going
outside and working out. The Liakada City Hospital usually treats older citizens and people with
injuries because a lot of the inhabitants try to maintain their health.
Within the city, there is crime like any other city because no place is perfect, but there are
very low crimes rates. Many people believe the reason for the low crime rates are because most
of the inhabitants are Christians that keep close to their values. Liakadas police handle most of

the situations that occur within the city. The main times where there is a lot of police and
security is when sports teams have a championship game or when the annual parade happens.
The police in the city are non-discriminant and treat everyone as equals. They also are not very
violent with people. They do what is necessary to keep the city safe and do not try to take
advantage of the authority that they have. Liakada has been named one of the safest cities in the
world, but they also know how to have fun.
To give the city some excitement, there are two major sports teams. The basketball team,
the Eagles, have won 10 championship games and are one of the best teams in its league.
Liakadas football team, the Pioneers, are a great team and has won 7 championship games.
Many of the residents within the city are more basketball fans than football but nonetheless the
citizens of Liakada have a lot of pride in their sports teams. Throughout the years, both teams
have helped to bring the community together. The teams have given back to the community with
programs such as Healthy Youth Association. Multiple athletes do clinics to support and
encourage the youth throughout the city. Basketball star, Noah Anthony, hosts an annual camp,
Basketball Precision, every year for youth to come and train with the professionals from the
Eagles basketball team.
In conclusion, Liakada is a family friendly city filled with great opportunities. Overall
many of the citizens enjoy the great weather, safe environment, and health conscious city that
Liakada brings. Liakada strives to be the best city possible by always providing more
opportunities to bring something new into the city. Liakada is a place that will always stand out
to foreigners because of their love for Christ, amazing athletics, and unique and new technology
that they provide.
