The students will define key vocabulary terms by making flashcards

Learning Goals/Objectives:
The student will be able to define and discuss vocabulary terms
associated with the phases of the moon
The student will be able to identify and describe each phase of the
moon
The student will be able to describe and identify the position of the
sun, earth, and moon for each phase of the moon
The student will be able to describe the moon

Procedure:
The students will define key vocabulary terms that will be used in
classroom discussions and activities
The students will learn and identify the phases of the moon and the
position of the earth, sun, and moon at each phase
The students will listen to Mr. Lees Science Rap: Moon Phases to
help them remember the moon phases
The students with a partner will apply everything they have learned
using Oreo cookies and earth and sun cut outs to create the phases
of the moon and demonstrate the position of the sun, moon, and
earth during each phase

Unit/Topic: Plate Tectonics

Learning Objectives/Goals:
The student will be able to understand how the Earth is dynamic and
how moving plates form ocean basins, mountain ranges, earthquakes,
and volcanoes
The student will be able to identify the three general categories of
plate tectonic boundaries recognized by scientists (convergent,
divergent, and transform)
The student will be able to understand how plate tectonics was
developed and supported

Procedure:
The students will define key vocabulary terms that will be used in
classroom discussions and activities
The students will watch BrainPop: Plate Tectonics video and then
take the quiz at the end of video together as class
Students in group of two or three will complete various snack
tectonics activities to get a physical and visual representation of the
different plate tectonic boundary movements
