Last year, Cache Bash attendees heard a recap of
their year-long project illustrating a series of maps
that feature local direct-sales agriculture within
Ontario County. These maps are available at the
Ontario County Cooperative Extension website,
and allow visitors to identify and locate farmers
who will sell their goods directly to consumers.

In 2008-2009, the GeoSeekers have teamed up

with the Ontario County Emergency
Management Office and the Manchester Fire
District to mark the location of over 300 fire
hydrants in the town of Manchester. This data
has been turned over to the County Planning
Office who is producing map books for each
emergency responder in Ontario County. The
data collected by the Geoseekers in this project
has immediate impact on the residents of Ontario
County.

The GeoSeekers will be sharing their experiences

from this year long project during a brief
presentation at 1:00, following lunch today.
